ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 10:21 PM Called a shop that my buddy recommended here in sacramento, the guy he told me to speak with wasn't available so I just got what i'm guessing was an 'off the street' quote.
$420 for michelin pilot roads and a safety inspection, take wheels off bike, reinstall, out the door.
$70 for safety the safety inspection.
thats still $350 for pilot roads!
another shop in town said they would do pilot powers for $300+ tax, i would need to bring the wheels in. they charge $20/wheel if i buy there, or $30/wheel if i bring in off the street.
looks like i need to get me a front stand!
PlayfulGod 08-09-2007, 10:37 PM Got a guy here in town that will do a set of powers for $325 mounted, me bring in my wheels or $375 I take the bike n they do it. :dthumb:

ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 10:47 PM not my size though! theres a site online that has pp's for like $210 but i don't know if thats with fee shipping or not. i'd rather have pilot roads though since they last longer!
120/60/17 and 160/60/17 .
i think i will get my tires from a local shop that meets prices, and get my saddlebags from them too...then i'd just need a stand.

the F3's just have a 160 on the rear?
F4 has a 180
ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 11:25 PM yep only a lil 160... is that bad? theres a realllly nice black/red F4 for sale nearby for only 3900.
i could sell mine this week, get that F4 before i take my trip and i might not even need to get new tires.
although the buyer might be mad when he sees my rear tire! i can't help spinnin the tires on this thing. sometimes i do it from a stop poppin the clutch too hard on a launch just to show some guy on the ZX-14 next to me that he suxorz.

that tire is shot  Nah not bad I just thought they had 180's on the rear. My 88 did, tho it had diff year wheels on it n I didnt ride twisties back then  Now I hunt the twisties out:dthumb:
ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 11:33 PM damn, theres a naked SV1000 in that metallic orange 2003 with only 14000 miles for $4700obo right here in town! hot damn!
ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 11:35 PM wow way to waste a tire
in my defense, it had about 25% tread left when i bought the bike. i've since put 2500 miles on it.

PlayfulGod 08-09-2007, 11:39 PM Oh n I have the Roads on mine. They rock:dthumb:
ptowntsi 08-09-2007, 11:45 PM hmm there are so many bikes out there for just a lil bit more than i can sell my F3... i think i'll just put on a new rear tire, take my trip to los angeles and then sell the bike  .
i'd go for an SV1000, GSX-R 600 or 750 2002 or newer, 600RR, F4i trying keep it between 4500 and 5500.
ptowntsi 08-10-2007, 01:07 PM im going to get just a rear dunlop 220 for now unless i can get a killer price on a set of them. All I need is a sport touring tire, i definitely cannot "attack" the twisties yet and just take this thing on long trips to save gas.
Rider 08-10-2007, 01:15 PM I got PP's put on for $320 installed on the bike. That safety inspetion fee is :wbs:

I'd go with the Conti Road Attacks first. :2cents:
ptowntsi 08-10-2007, 05:24 PM i could get them (conti attacks) for a good price i don't ride like that, those are the same kind of a tire like a pilot power/dunlop qualifier. i need something that is not going to square off with lots of straight highway riding!

Those are sport touring tires. More like the Pilot Roads.
