Anyone knowledgable about pit bikes. I am thinking of getting a used crf 50 or some kind of china knock off like a SSR90R and motarding the s**t out of it. Advice would be much appreciated if you are knowledgable on the subject.

Here is a link to parts sight. http://www.50caliberracing.com/ Or check out www.wmriders.com. There is a 50 section on that forum. There are guys around here that stunt them and are very knowledgable about the 50's

I have this chinese thingie pit bike. the guy I had bought it from for dirt cheap had put a stiff shock on it and scooter tires. If you are willing to spend a little get a japanese one they are much nicer, but the chinese made piece of crap I have is fast as hell and can take quite a beating. I would reccomend a 125cc as they are bigger than the fifties and are a bit easier to ride imo a bit quicker too. Do it....:dthumb:

cool now we wait patiently on some vids of you tearing it up :dthumb: :dthumb: Definitely, I already bit it on the bike. I put on my street wheels. Dude sold me two sets of wheels, 10/10 for street and 12/10 for dirt. Well I went exploring behind my apartment and found a 4x4 trail. This damn thing went on for awhile and was a decent trail and branched a ton. I lost it in a turn, should kept my dirt tires on. This thing is a ****in blast!!!

I'm 6'1" and 170lbs, it lugs my ass around. Mine has a taller swingarm and taller forks, other 50s are much smaller. I already ordered white plastics and stickers to make it look similar to my CBARRR. http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/9813/img5115zv5.jpg http://img129.imageshack.us/img129/9659/img5118vg3.jpg

Not bad... maybe I should check one of these things out... They are a lot of fun, I been dragging knees in the parking lot of a church behind my place with the street tires. I am going to get a video of the trails behind the church in a few days. It's pretty cool back there and has some technical parts.

What's something like that cost? depends on how modded it is, can run from $500-$5000. You can get a new china bike for around a $1000, but it is chinese so expect everything to be in need of torquing and lubing. Look locally, not worth shipping something like this. Honda CRF50F or XR50 is what you want.

sweet. I'm thinking of getting a pocket rocket. not worth it, to get a good one worth having you are going to pay in the thousands for a italian bird. I would get one of these and motard it. I have street tires for the gap. You would need a damn good pocket rocket to keep up with the type of bike I have. I was going to get a pb at first, but these are better bang for the buck.

My pit bike is a 1969 Heathkit minibike with a 5hp briggs and stratton lawnmower engine. I used to ride it all the time, but the other day I couldn't get it running cuz it sat for a while... :cursin: Hopefully I can get it running again soon so I can take it up to the track in two weeks. BTW the thing has a banana seat and a MONSTROUS rear tire for the size minibike that it is. I put a big harley davidson sticker on the rear fender as a joke because its loud, handles like chit, and is slow

That this is awesome! So does that have a clutch? Stay away from those little pb's. I bought one when they first come out for $500 bucks and it was the worse thing ever. The welds sucked, good luck keeping a pull starter, and the carbs stayed f'ed!

That this is awesome! So does that have a clutch? It has a clutch, but not one that you activate yourself. It is a centrifugal type, with the springs and weights inside. One time it basically exploded and shot parts all over the place and I had to ghetto-rebuild it

You ever seen one of those movies where the guy rides a bike through a rope and gets clotheslined? Yeah, that just happened to me. I am going to the hospital, bike is fine except for a broken brake lever. I am pretty rashed up because I thought a little bike and going playing in the dirt didn't require a jacket. My neck and arms took some nice burns from the rope. Watch out on trails kids, you never know what f**ktard might put up a rope to take you out.

Just catch them doing something bad and make em piss their pants then everytime you see em make fun of em for being panty pissers.
