VatorMan 09-10-2007, 06:55 AM We are standing around BSing and this truck pulls up with a bike in the back. This kid (20-25) all bandaged up gets out of the truck. Of course we all gather around to find out WTF happened. THe bike's (CBR 600) fairing, front end and frame was toast.
First thing Squidly (dressed in shorts, sneakers, wife beater) says "This is what happens when you drink and ride." Apparently he and a chick had just left Bike Night and a mile away he pulled the front end up-He said the chick was a LITTLE large-Pulled on him which caused his hand to twist the throttle more and then up and over !!
They ended up in the ditch-chick in hospital-Thank God Maryland has a helmet law. Squidly has a severe case of the road rash.
itgirl25 09-10-2007, 07:16 AM where in MD is there a bike night? i'm not too far from MD. there's none in PA, at least nothing worth mentioning.
So what was he doing community service announcements... in person....:nonod:
Somebody should have got some pics....
itgirl25 09-10-2007, 07:23 AM sounds like the dude needs a 'no fat chicks' sticker for the next bike.

jtemple 09-10-2007, 07:50 AM I don't go to rallies and bike nights and such. I just don't understand the desire to ride your bike somewhere, just to park it and hang out. I want to ride mine. So, I go ride it. Not to mention that I won't so much as sit on my bike if I've had any alcohol.
Phenix_Rider 09-10-2007, 07:58 AM What the HELL is a "frozen t-shirt contest"?!

They freeze a balled up T-shirt solid. First one to put it on wins $50. It's pretty funny to watch.

When I used to go to bike nites regularly, I would ride 150 miles to go to the burger join 8 miles from my house... But most of the people there was also posters on the local forums so it was much more then a tire kicking story telling type of event, we actually organized rides, like the next Pie Run... There's nothing better then Riding somewhere to go eat Pie... It's like :angelhap: heaven

I don't understand it either. It's more for the people who buy bikes as an image thing though. I rather have my throttle cranked back then sit around and play who's got the smallest penis.

What you described is scheduling a ride, not going to hangout at a bike night and f**king off all night.

At least at bike night I can find out about roads that don't have rope strung across them. :leaving: Plus it puts you in touch with like minded individuals.

I know, see first post as to why I want nothing to do with those people.

But that is what happends at most of the BK's I've visited.. sure there are some random riders that show up...But most post on the same forums and it's a chance to put a face with the name... and ride with them. As for the resturants Them be some good eatin's too, so that's like a plus....

So is this a forum thing or is this a certain location setting up a night for ya'll to come meet at this one location? Like say our local Hooter's sets up a certain time every week for bikers to come in. That is a bike night. My forum sets up certain times for us to meet and go ride some twisties and then grab a bite to eat and head home the long way. That's a ride, not a bike night.
No they're not, because there are forum sponsored events and member related events... Bike nights are always brought up via a member, generally someplace with a common interest (Good Food or Monday Night Football) But because there is a lot of forum support members always show up.
RedRidingHood 09-10-2007, 09:33 AM :nonod: Last "bike night" I went too...me and TG went in. Got off the bike...walked around for maybe 20 minutes. Had a "coke" and then I looked at him, he looked at me...and we were OVER IT! Went riding for the next hour or two. Oh ofc I had to stop in the woods at some point ;)
Other than that..I usually don't like hanging around looking at everyone's bikes. Sure I may not have my OWN...but I've got one to ride on..which is FUN for me and I rather not sit around. Ofc showing off the "super hornet" was pretty bad ass!

This doesn't sound like a bike night at all, this just sounds like forum gatherings and rides.
The bike nights we are talking about is when so-and-so bar or some dealership has an event planned where people can bring their bike and get some food/beer and then sit there all night.
smileyman 09-10-2007, 09:54 AM Our social meets are at a Hooters or sports bar to watch the MotoGP or WSB races and share a laugh or two without trashing one of our homes. The rest of the time it's canyons and track days.
You won't catch me cruising sonic!:flush:
2004RC51 09-10-2007, 09:59 AM Here in Fort Walton Beach we had lots of "Bike Nights"
Tuesday in Pensacola at the Sonic on Fairfield, ride in, hang out, look at the bikes and then split and go home.
Friday Liberty Cafe, or ollies in Milton, usually hang out for a while then our local stunters put on a show for a bit and then we all hang out some more.
But Sunday, sunday is the best! Sunday we meet up a a certain gas station in Crestview, and go hit the twisties....the ones we can find in florida mind you, after we ride for about 4 hours, we had to sonic and hang out, sometimes to hang out long enough for a group to roll in who want to eat and then go ride around town
All fun in my book!
