Well, if I were a betting man I would say GasMan hit the nail on the head, Twsity is being evasive again. I think there is a gap in his story somewhere. Dude is that a sweet deal on the bike or what? I believe K&W had one on their floor when I bought the six and if it is the same bike I remember it being quite a bit more then 13. Good luck with "negotiations". Just be sure and save some money for the Garage expansion. Since we know WOS and Twisty will be at the Gap in May, and Jetski is so rich, I'm assuming it will be nothing for him to fly his bike out. I will buy the first keg if I can get a front row seat for the Trash at The Gap insult-off. Then after we crown the trash king, we can enjoy some cold beverages and lie about how good we are!! Who's up for it????

Ever hear of using window washer rig from roof :D Also window washer companies use portable cherry picker lifts this part of country over 40 foot ladder ;) If you are a highrise building engineer, then you should know that swing stage you call a rig is the most dangerous way to clean windows. Any time you see a pic of a window cleaner in trouble or who took a fall, he was on one of those F'king rigs. NO THANK-YOU!! I will use my Mule or counterweight basket anytime. I have a JLG ariel lift and it is great if you have a parking lot to sit on or room to put the outriggers out (see tow truck post from earlier this month) That swing stage you mentioned, Every time you use one, you have to put 2 men on it to run the motors and the brakes. I would rather have two men cleaning windows. Also, Take a guess at what the Workmen's Comp rate is when you use a swing stage...It will cover a roofer and a fireman's. I guess they didn't teach you that in engineering school.

In my 20 plus years on highrise buildings never heard of any window washers getting killed or hurt in San Francisco using window rigs. Few times window washers have been stuck on rigs. No problem if rig cannot be repaired in place you take out a window. Most of window rigs I deal with are Spider staging, units are inspected yearly and have many safety devices ;) If you are using 40 ft ladder, mule or counter weight basket on highrise buildings you are running a very inefficent business or you have very cheap labor, do not care about safety. Italians used to run window cleaning business in SF, 90% are now Mexicans but still all Union on highrises.

Those pics make my head swoon. I could never make it on one of those rigs. I have been skydiving, but for some reason I don't get the same feeling as when standing on the edge of a highrise.
