OK I must vent/rant a bit here... After I completed a "Live Update" of my Norton AntiVirus. I was having some problems with my Outlook sending email. I got to thinkin...I bet N4S could help with this, being that he deals with this stuff all the time. I call N4S and he tells me..."yeah I've been getting alot of these calls the couple days...turn off your outgoing email scan and it will work" so I did and it DID work. I told him, that maybe I should contact Symantec on this problem. He told me to just wait it out and he's sure they'll put out another update that fixes the problem. I was like NOOOO, I can call, how long could it take...(thinking maybe 20 mins) :nonod: N4S, ends our conversation with a :luck: ! Now it's 23:15 Wed night...I call Symantec...watching TV and :whore: a little over 45mins later :upset: ...some lady answers. I'm like :help: and I CAN'T UNDERSTAND A WORD THAT IS COMING OUT OF HER MOUTH!!! :upset:  :disapp: She's asking me for my name... I'm like "Chris" she is spelling it out C R I S ....no it's "CHRIS" you F'in ****!!! OK OK, she says..."Last name?"...I tell her and she says "No, I need your last name!" I said "That is my last name...and nevermind" CLICK I hang up the phone and I'm pissed!! After all that wait, and I get some BIETCH that can't hardly speak or understand the ENGLISH language!!! :wtf: 45mins and I get this!!! :upset: :puke: :disapp: :tt: :loser:  :nonod: I'm getting ready to flip my F'in lid!!! :wtf: is wrong with these companies!! I mean seriuosly!!! How do they expect to stay in biz!! Keep your crap here is the GREAT USA!! :pat: I had never expierenced such CRAP!! It was just like that one vid somebody posted with that cartoon calling some tech support....I would really like to see that again if somebody still has the link or the thread...maybe it would make me feel better... Does anybody feel my pain here... :sorry: I had to vent..... :sadwave: :flush:

WOW someone could use a little anger management course! LOL But Gas, the world revolves around $$$$ not quality. So why pay Americans $10=$30/ hour to answer phones when they can send it to India, pay them pennies a day for support. Hopefully you dont call Dell Tech Support too often. You might be able to understand 1/50 people who answer. :disapp:

No I don't need anger management...I didn't kill nobody...I hung up, vented a bit, went to bed and vented just now on the post...I feel somewhat better. That is anger management...better management than these arsehole companies sending this crap over seas... Twisty always talks up Dell and their tech support. I also know that they moved a great deal of their tech support back over to the US!

The gov't needs to give more tax breaks to companies that don't outsource, enough to correct itself. I agree, it's f'n bullshyt.

Thats another reason why I mentioned to just wait, and they'll put out a patch for it soon. Symantec doesn't outsource all of their tech support, but they do outsource some it, so you're chances of getting a half speaking english rep are somewhat increased unless you call late over night, when it isnt as busy, or u get lucky during the day and get an american.

It's cheaper in India. AND IT SUCKS. My company just let a bunch of designers go...sent the jobs to guess where....INDIA. Everything is going over there.

I called tech support for help with a HP all in one scanner, I too reached someone who could barely speak english with an Indian accent and he said his name was Michael. Yeah, right! And I suppose you live in Kentucky with that accent. There is a simple solution. Corporations only care about 1 thing, money. Don't buy their products, tell everyone you know, and eventually the ripple will reach them.

Get used to it! More and more and more and more jobs end up in India, sooner or later everything you pick up the phone for will involve a call to India. Hello, Habib? Yes, I need a Large with pepperoni.... No.. LARGE... PEPPERONI... yes a pizza... no.. large... ... yes... pepperoni... pep..... per..... oni... My mom works at a large insurance company, 50% of their jobs have been sent to India as of last Jan. The other 48% are probably coming soon... then they will have a giant ass building for the pres n vice pres of the company to sit in, and maybe a receptionist who will know how to hit the "send call to india" button.

We just laid off a couple thousand throughout our company this past March and sent all their jobs to India! The sad part was we even had our trainers going over there training them not even knowing they were training them to take their job. It is really sad!

Yet, somehow, the politicians still say its "Good for our economy" ??? I don't know anyone that really says that, it's just that they don't know exactly how to address it. It's not as simple as just stopping.

Maybe you could use 35 free minutes (http://www.ondeals.com/free-calling-card.html) to call India?

if they are like dell..they just give those techs in india a weeks worth of training on how to speak english in a semi proper way, and give them a generic name, and away they go. :bonk:

The only fly in this ointment is, After all the jobs get outsourced to Pacific rim, and everyone here is unemployed...who are they going to sell their products to??

Type "jobs going overseas is good for the economy" in google, and you'll find all sorts of politicians who say so. "Outsourcing is just a new way of doing international trade," said N. Gregory Mankiw, chairman of Bush's Council of Economic Advisors, which prepared the report. "More things are tradable than were tradable in the past. And that's a good thing." There's one I found in 30 seconds. They DO think it is good, all the way up to Bush.

I absolutely hate outsourcing ! These people are actually very technically sound for the most part, but the communication factor just makes every call a disaster from the get go. :bonk: :willy:
