s0ulburn 10-25-2007, 10:40 PM Okay so in Stephen King did it, does any one else do it.
My friend and I in Highschool named a car we used to roll around in "The Shaggin Wagon" It was an 85 Chrystler Reliant wagon. We dogged the hell out of it. IT lasted a good while then one day it finally gave out. Well the tradition kinda stuck it was bad luck or karma or whatever to ride in or own a vehilce without naming it.
So does anyone here have names for their vehicles????

smileyman 10-26-2007, 09:01 AM I have never officially named a vehicle. I am very sentimental about my rides though and sometimes refer to them with nicknames...
My 83 Firebird - Bird of Prey
Titanium ZX6R - Silver Bullet
My old 69 Nova - "The Hulk" (it was green and had a big block 454 engine)
OUr Trailblazer EXT - APC (armored personnel carrier) or "Huey" after the Vietnam era helicopter
Others my family has owned get referred to by their color, Ole Blue, Little Brownie, greenie, ect.

byron12 10-26-2007, 01:40 PM Me and some of my friends in highschool were given a 78 datsun b210 it had no gas tank and gas came from a five gallon can placed in the passenger side floorboard. The subframe was completly rusted out and you could feel the body shifting about on the chassis through corners. We raised about 300 miles worth of hell in this car on various dirt roads before finally losing it in a road block. We had to sneak into the impund lot and steal our tools back. THis car was called "the dangerous datsun"
trock 10-26-2007, 01:57 PM Does dangerous datsun refer to the floorboards being rusted out and your fear of tetnous or what?
byron12 10-26-2007, 02:06 PM Does dangerous datsun refer to the floorboards being rusted out and your fear of tetnous or what?
all of those things including the gas fumes due to the gas tank being open in the passenger compartment and 15 year old tires. Name something that might make a car dangerous this car had that going on.
z06boy 10-26-2007, 02:26 PM I don't name my rides either except have referred to my Vette as Zbeast...a couple of friends call it The Batmobile and even had someone call it Kit. :slol:

Well the point in my starting this thread was to gather some information, I am trying to think of a nick name or name for my new bike. To me, it's like showing a sign of respect. You respect the machine, the machine will respect you.
I want to respect my machine. :mc1:

:idk: It's just easier than saying "My 1994 Chevrolet Silverado," or "2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650R." And there are some really troublesome brand/model names out there. There's also something about humanity that needs to anthropomorphize everything we see...but let's not go there.
joostertag 10-27-2007, 08:50 AM my sunbird was the bird, my supra was the beast, and my eagle vision is the visionator. dont have a name for the bike though
