Yea you guys in the South East got it pretty freakin bad!!!! Here we had so much freakin rain, it was unbelievable, and we usually have days where 100's are a norm here but we only had a handful if that. :idk:

Being in NC...winter isn't usually that bad so I'll ride even if it's just enough to keep the battery charged...tires from flat spotting...and fuel fresh. :dthumb:
I do winterize my boat and store it for the winter but that's just about it. smileyman 10-30-2007, 08:16 AM I ride year round. Even in Arkansas though you get pretty chilled in the mornings. I have a winter Road Gear suit and it works wonders on a 15-20 degree day! Eyeque 10-30-2007, 10:48 AM we have enough nice days in the 50's-60's that I can ride during the winter. Leaving the battery connected promotes corrosion, so it's best to remove it. PlayfulGod 10-31-2007, 07:12 PM Leaving the battery connected promotes corrosion, so it's best to remove it.

I bring mine inside where it's warm. And don't set it on concrete when it's charging. pickle.of.doom 10-31-2007, 07:37 PM if i plan on putting my bike up for the winter do i have to pull the battery out and put it on the battery tender or can i just use the cables it supplied and leave it in the bike with the battery hooked up to just the trickle charger all winter long?
I leave my batteries in the bikes, still hooked up, with the battery tender hooked right up to it. As long as the bike is stored in a dry place you shouldn't get any corrosion. Never had a problem with any of my bikes doing it that way. Scissors 10-31-2007, 07:40 PM Whats the difference in it connected to the bike n a battery tender n it connected to just a battery tender?
The bike is the difference. It's for the same reason that the instructions for just about every battery-operated device tells you to remove the batteries if it won't be used for a long time.
But as mentioned above, if the bike is stored in a dry place for only a few months, it won't be an issue. sleeper_red 10-31-2007, 08:07 PM Winter ride here. As long as the roads are dry, I'm out there. I've been out there when it was in the 20's at 5am. Not for long, though. I would say I go out for about an hour. Gotta ride. I pray for 35... It's been well down into the 20s here this week. Fxck that! (till I get my Scarab Winters at least) Did it once with my Scarab RRs and glove liners. Thought my fingers would be black and frostbit when I got to work. Ordered my gloves from Motorcycle Superstore- best price I could find, and free shipping on orders over $75. Zepp 11-02-2007, 10:26 PM Winter ride. It was 24 degrees this morning on my ride home. They only thing that gets cold is my hands. At 70 - 80 mph, in the cold, it doesn't take long at all before those hands get cold. I am trying to find good Winter gloves right now. I am not sure which ones to buy.
If it is dry with no snow or ice then I am riding. bombadillo 11-03-2007, 12:38 AM I just ride now. It doesn't freeze here at all so I just ride when its wet. It almost never gets to the point of freezing here in Eureka. Phenix_Rider 11-03-2007, 04:51 PM It actually got to 53 today when I was on my way back from a 125 mile ride. 40 when I left. 40? psshh
If you have decent gloves, 40 is nothing. Throw on a turtle neck on under my jacket and I'm set to 20. I'm still missing the gloves though. Daveon2 11-22-2007, 11:17 AM turtleneck, i def need one of those. ive got an icon motorhead jacket which looks Badass but its collarless so it lets in all kinds of cold even with the liner installed. we rode all the way across the state yesterday to visit the ONE sonic in jersey and i was feelin mighty stiff by the time we got back pickle.of.doom 11-22-2007, 11:30 AM Woke up to the white sh%t all over the ground today :( Phenix_Rider 11-22-2007, 12:42 PM turtleneck, i def need one of those. ive got an icon motorhead jacket which looks Badass but its collarless so it lets in all kinds of cold even with the liner installed. we rode all the way across the state yesterday to visit the ONE sonic in jersey and i was feelin mighty stiff by the time we got back
Yeah- turtleneck is nice there. Just pull the top into the bottom of your lid, and it's great. But when you get where your going, that tall collar can be a drag. I've been looking for an Underarmour shirt with a tall enough collar with a zipper. That chit's expensive!
Woke up to the white sh%t all over the ground today :(
No snow yet, but it's supposed to tomorrow, and it's rainy and windy as all hell today.
