ebbs15 11-03-2007, 03:03 PM I'm headed to the Air Force Acadamy... in Colorado Springs...
at first I was a little disheartened but the more I think about it, it's perfect for me... a decent winter, an actual summer, and lots of good roads to ride! now to just find a track near by...
it's nice cause it's only a day and a half drive to Portland (my hometown) and a long day's drive to Fargo (my parents home) still try'n to find out how far it is to Omaha (my Bro's house) cause that may be the closest track. :idk:
but damn... I do have the luck don't I... one gorgeous place to another... and this time... I'm HIDING from every SUMMER deployment!
I'll be there NLT 30 April 09.... :hawk: I can't wait.
so who all do we have from CO here?
Amblyopic 11-03-2007, 03:33 PM gratz on the new duty station!
marko138 11-03-2007, 04:22 PM I bet No Worries could show you the good $#!T.
You may be close enough for some track days in Vegas. You can stay at my place.
'73 H1 Triple 11-03-2007, 06:47 PM There is also some great fishing out in CO too :yesnod: The best stream trout fishing I ever did was in CO.
:pat: :thx2: :pat:
Thanks for your service to our great country
:seeya: Jeff
papapoi 11-03-2007, 08:05 PM Was also stationed in Colorado springs back when i was in the army. there are mountains with in 2 hrs each direction LOL. Good snowboarding spots. fishing and GREAT twisties. in the mountains.
sweet ebbs, whats the possibility of making the rally?
Eyeque 11-03-2007, 08:40 PM ...and lots of good roads to ride...so who all do we have from CO here?
you don't know the half of it. we've got some of the best riding in the country here. hit me up when you get in town and we'll go for a cruise.
No Worries 11-04-2007, 12:07 AM Hmmm, mountains near Colorado Springs? Well the town is at the base of a little mountain called Pikes Peak. As for twisty roads, just about every road in the Front Range, from the New Mexico border to the Wyoming border is twisty. As for tracks, all the ones near Denver have been "redeveloped". The nearest to the Springs is at Pueblo, about 60 miles south. And if I'm still alive and riding in 09, I'll take you to my favorite twisty roads west of Denver.

SWEET! I'll definatly need some pointers...
on another note... I just found out I have to leave AK NLT 30 Jan cause that's my DROS... but my RNLTD to Osan is 10 March so I can show up as early as 1 march... so I'm forced to take at least 29 days of Leave!? and I get screwed out of COT leave because you can't take over 10 days... :wbs: I'm gonna talk to Outbound Monday... I mean I have 65days of leave... what would happen if I DIDN'T have the 29 days to give?
There is also some great fishing out in CO too :yesnod: The best stream trout fishing I ever did was in CO.

Well coming from AK... I doubt the fishing is much better... but either way I'm not much of a fisherman... I don't like the taste... and I'd rather be wheel'n my truck or riding ;)
sweet ebbs, whats the possibility of making the rally?
Next year? ZIP... I don't get my mid-tour leave till between my 5th and 7th months... so about August... and my RNLT (reporting date) to the Academy is 30 April 09... so I doubt I'll be able to take leave to go do that a couple weeks after signing in... but who knows... that's still 15 months or so away... but best believe I'll be try'n!
you don't know the half of it. we've got some of the best riding in the country here. hit me up when you get in town and we'll go for a cruise.
Sweet! it'll be nice to have someone to cruise with... not a whole lot of riders up here... just posers...

opportunities AND places to go! even if I had been able to ride the last two summers there's only one road north and one south... not much for twistys... so it'd be more cruze'n... with no destination

Congrats man. Lot more chance that Ryan and I would come down to colorado to see you than alaska. You saw how I liked the cold the night you were out here....... But yeah, lived down there for like 2 weeks and didn't want to come back. You'll have to let Ryan or me know when you are settled in and your addy there. If you have time off and come through Fargo again let us know. We'll hang out again. Hopefully it will be more than a couple hours.

I'll have to be up in Fargo to get my bike when I move down... but I'll probably be there in December for Xmas... and again around Aug for my mid-tour leave. should be able to get some good riding in then... as I'm now plan'n on riding or driving (depending on if my parents go) down to Colorado Springs to look at houses, and the area... should be fun.
I was really nice to meet you two... I'm a little dissapointed I won't be closer to you guys... but hey... I've moved 3400 miles now you can move 800 :slol:
