Personally all I have is Benelli Nova (3.5 inch 12 gauge). In my household though my bro has a Mossberg 12 gauge, sister had a Benelli M2 (3 inch 12 gauge automatic). My dad has a Benelli Super Black Eagle II (top of the line hunting gun), 30-30, 243, 410, Browning Sitori O/U 20 gauge, older handgun, couple of 22s.

Is there that much difference in the feel of different makers' weapons? Of the same caliber I mean. I looked at Sig Sauer and a few others, but they looked awfully small- guessing a smaller/lighter gun means more felt recoil. Except they have a shorter barrel, so :idk:

Sounds a lot like a vehicle to me. A hundred rounds with no cleaning and bad loads, jams, etc. will kill it. But given some care and regular maintenance, a hundred thousand is achievable.

About the feel of them... Yes there are very different designs in 9mm, 40,45 all of em, if u wanna buy one, hold as many as you can, accuracy has a lot to do with comfort and it fitting your hand right. And on Glocks not haivng metal frame.. the Springfield XD's do, but are otherwise like a glock, with (to me) a more comfortable angled grip, and the 1911 style saftey in addition which is good. check em out, its a good gun and decent price.

Target shooting is fine, but not the best idea to use a rifle/carbine/assault for personal protection or home defense.

The grip safety is interesting on the XD but for some grips, it wouldn't work. If you don't get enough pressure on it? I don't think I like the dual trigger thing. The baby eagle in 9, .40 or .45 is one of the best handguns for the money. They are a rock solid platform, and they feel amazing in my hand at least. I almost bought that one instead of my ruger p345 at home. I went with the ruger because its easier to take down. In retrospect, I should have gotten the baby eagle in .45

That is as long as it has a decent scope on it and decent ammo! that's why it's effective to 800m Doing your own loads i could see a bit farther but honestly for a click you need to look at bolt action for accuracy (more or less the rule). The SVD wasn't built to be a "sniper" rifle, it was designed to be a "marksman" rifle.... each squad was supposed to have a designated marksman which would carry the SVD for the longer-than-average shots.

5.7mm? How does that stop anything from a pistol? Wait- does that shoot the same round as the FN P90? A rifle round must have some kick in that little thing. same exact round, its very low recoil. the military version of the cartridge is designed to punch body armour and kevlars out to 200 meters. even the civvie rounds got in some trouble cause early batches were reportedly capable of penetrating a class 2 vest. hence the weapon's bad rep with law enforcement types

Okay... question. What is y'alls opinion on the .357 SIG round? Thinking about going with that...

I own one gun, but that's it. It's a 16 gauge shotgun, bolt action with a clip (only holds 2 extra shells), and an adjustable choke. Hard to find ammo for a 16 gauge though.

Okay... question. What is y'alls opinion on the .357 SIG round? Thinking about going with that... Seems like a decent round...just not as plentiful as 9mm....40's and 45's. None of my handguns are of this caliber but I have considered getting one.

I gots me Desert Eagle. surprisingly nobody has said it.. Actually a baby eagle 9mm lol. but still, accurate little sucker and light as air.. Others I cant realy state for I would hate the DHS to knock on my door asking me questions.. Lets just say great military gear available just south of the border. and an AK brought back from Iraq, functional of course . hell I have even seen them with designer colors over there..

It has recently come to my attention that the NRA has been giving money to Senator Max Baucus (D-MT). According to the Website that tracks all of the candidate and donor financial information available from the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), (See http://www.tray.com/fecinfo/.) both Baucus and NRA-PVF (Political Victory Fund - the name of the NRA political action committee) FEC reports show that the NRA on 06/26/01 gave the Baucus re-election campaign a $3,950.00 contribution. Most of you will remember that Max Baucus built his political career on steady and sworn promises to NEVER vote for any gun control. Then, in 1994, and at the special request of his then-buddy, Bill Clinton, Baucus betrayed his longstanding promises to Montana voters and became the single swing vote on pass/fail procedural votes on both the Brady Bill and the Feinstein semi-auto and magazine ban bill. Saying that Baucus was the swing vote on pass/fail procedural votes means that if he had kept his promises to Montana voters, neither bill would have passed the Senate or Congress. Max's betrayal made it happen. You will remember the intense effort made by MSSA and its members to replace Max when our very pro-gun Lt. Governor, Denny Rehberg, ran against him. You may even remember that this heroic effort by gun owners was undercut in the last days of the campaign by the NRA (if you want a copy of the letter I sent to Neal Knox then explaining this fiasco, let me know). Now, we learn that the NRA is giving money to Baucus. I spoke at length with the NRA staffer in NRA/ILA Federal Affairs who is responsible for dealing with Baucus for the NRA. We talked for nearly an hour, and I admit to not being very kind to him. Among other things, I asked him why nobody in the NRA had bothered to ask anybody in Montana if it might or might not be a good idea to begin funding Baucus. I did learn several interesting things:
