Some friends are having a huge party... there'll be plenty of eating, drinking, general merriment and lighting things on fire (we'll start with fireworks, but I'm sure it'll progress from there).

And then New Year's Day there's a big all day ride planned (which means not excessive drinking the night before :cheers: ). :D

Im going to a wide open spot where they let us shoot our guns and letting off a few hundred tracer rounds and some flares! Getting drunk of Near Beer! And eating the finest of chow hall slop! Party in the sand!!

Mine's similar to VAB's.... 'cept for the getting to fire off tracer rounds, flares and getting drunk on Nea-Beer....

Ride in those temps? I haven't ridden since Dec. 4th. The streets are icy and my alley is snowbound. I-70 is closed from Denver to the ski areas. I'm talking that I'm not even taking my Jeep out tonight.

Here they let off fireworks... they have HUGE firework shows... cause durring the 4th of July the sun doesn't go down till after 1030pm so it never gets completely dark... so they let off fireworks now when it's pitch black...

actually they sell 10x the amount of fireworks this time of year compared to around July 4th...

And if you want an iron butt ride, you can always go out to Van Horn/Ft Stockton/El Paso... Get some Mountains and some straights all at the same time...

one of my co-workers was stationed down at Lackland in San Antonio.. he said the roads there become slick as **** when the rain comes... can't remember why but I think it was because of all the tar snakes... or the type of stone they used for paving... :idk:

Ehh. I didn't have that much trouble on the roads near B/CS when it was raining.. but then again it was asphault.

Down that way they use a lot of poured cement for pavements, sometimes textured, sometimes not... so I could kinda see that.
