Samsung 4661... True HD, 1080p. There's a million other specs out there, but I'm way too lazy to post up all that crap. I researched it and it seems money... Plus I looked at them at Best Lie and Circuit Chitty... It's pretty flucking money.

We are talking dolphin stadium big. And just because your TV says 1080p, it could also just be up conversion. It's still too early in the game for 1080p to even matter. Yes, I have a 1080p Sony and have studied the pixel structure at close range, you can't tell much at all.

shipping anything internationally sux. Well here's my thing.... I priced a tube of artic silver, then a mouse pad, just to see.... but yeah, standard, 20$..... when it would cost all of 4 bucks if they droped it in the mail. Ya know, I could understand a 5$ surcharge for using the USPS... but... that's just plain stupid.

I totally dig Samsung for their plasma and LCD stuff, and sony for their repro LCD/SXRD (based off LCOS) stuff.... damn good man, damn good.... It's if it is interlaced or deinterlaced or actually progressive like it should be to be 1080p. I have manually set xbox 360s HDDVD players to 1080i and 1080p on several TVs and on some of the very top end ones you can see the difference in pixel structure if you get very very close to the TV, but it is just not noticeable from a watching distance unless it is a gigantic TV.

The thing for me about the LCD was the fact that I will be using it in a bright room. The plasma's I looked at all had shiny screens... the matte finish on the LCD's reflected a hell of a lot less light... Yes, I was the jackass in the store with a Maglite shining it on all the TV's...

Plasma to LCD when it comes to accurate color representation. God they do look good (to start with).

Oh... and as far as sound system goes, mine sucks. It's an 800 watt Sony 5 disc DVD changer... It sounds ok, but I'd like to feel the rumble of a 1000 watt system... That's not in the cards for the time being as this thing sounds good enough for now... Since I am going the HTPC route, eventually that rig will go out the window to be replaced by a kickass soundcard and a good PC theatre system... Those are starting to get pretty good from what I've seen...

From my understanding it's the electronics behind it that deem it progressive or interlaced. The resolution is just that... resolution. That's just it, if you have a 1920x1080 resolution, it won't really matter if it is interlaced, deinterlaced, or progressive until you get a bigger screen to be able to see the pixels more pronounced on the screen. That's why 1080i vs 1080p is not that important. Your original statement should of been more like 1920x1080 FTW.

Also with the 1080p. Maybe I'm wrong with this, but from what I know, at this point Blu-Ray players and PS3's are the only things that play true 1080p. I love my Plasma, couldn't justify the extra $800 for the upgraded to 1080p, so I got the 720p version. It works great :dthumb: I haven't noticed a great amount of heat off it, but the picture is great!! Played CoD4 for hours yesterday. Plasma FTW!

However there are a lot of other devices that can send a much much better signal than 1080p. Computers for instance are one of them.
