Isnt there a place close by that has cabins and a camping ground? And the owners cook dinner etc. And its fairly cheap. I may have saved the link....

Theres fontana but it isnt cheap either. Or at least stayin in the lodge isnt. Cabins I dont know about. The other place I mention had camping for like $15 a night,.along with cabins, and the owners cooked out every night etc. I'll have to search the for the thread on cbrforum for its name.

Ouch, thats expensive. I hope our usual spot down there still gives us a good deal, although I'm sure they will, they like our group, and we take up 4 rooms for at least a week.

hmmmmm, i dont really care, either way i gotta come up with the $$ to get up there, but I have a feeling my city slickers (Ray & Mari) will not be keen on camping out...last year just about killed them with no tv, phone, or internet...and lets not forget the spiders...

I'll let you more local people figure out where we wanna be...

Want to just keep it there and maybe change things up for 09? Maybe a new location for 09 instead of keeping it at the gap. No one really seems all that interested this year. Bastards.

Rae

I'm fine with keepin it there, i was happy with Marcia and the place...

i am not sure what prices are normal up there, but as far as I am used to from living in Tourist Central, a friggin super 8 thats being condemned is more than $100 a night for one room, one person!!!

What about renting an RV and bike trailer? A 22-footer in Denver rents for $120 a night (until June 28) and sleeps 5. An enclosed trailer can be rented from U-Haul.

I'm sure I will just do my normal camp thing like every year...IF I can make it this year. I am in the process of becoming an MSF RiderCoach, but I won't know if I am selected until April. If I am selected I will have to attend 60 hours of classes...just so happends that one of my training classes is the weekend of the Rally so I definatly won't be able to make it if I am selected for the MSF.

Funny I applied for this position back in 2005 and they just got around to me about a month ago.

not a waste if you enjoy it...l time spent on two wheels is never a waste IMO... but if your that worried about it... buy another set... have them shipped to Trip then use yours for riding down switch them down there... then before you leave switch back... have trip ship them up to you and sit them off to the side till you need them:dthumb:
