No Worries 02-07-2008, 11:00 PM Nice. Glad to see a classic bike being ridden. Especially ridden fast. Is the steering damper by Stortz? I was bidding on a set of those smoothbores for my Suzuki, but stopped when the price went over $100. They sold for a lot more.
OneSickPsycho 02-07-2008, 11:04 PM I just noticed that thing has a kick start... FlUCK THAT! That's gotta be WAY TOO MUCH WORK!!!!
jalaan1 02-07-2008, 11:11 PM

Wimp. My 1979 Suzuki was the first bike I bought that didn't have a kickstart. All the two-stroke street bikes I owned before that had kickstarts and starters. They came in pretty handy with the weak batteries, alternators, and regulator/rectifiers they had.

Yup, I am a push the button and make it go whore. :D
ceo012384 02-09-2008, 02:07 AM Congrats Dnyce... always liked that bike
I was thinking.... might it help you when launching to lie down with your chest on the tank and use the passenger foot pegs instead? It would keep the wheel down...
You'd just need a shifter rod extension or modified 'rear'set of some sort.
I know the real drag bikes use a hand-controlled unit for shifting I think...
dnyce 02-09-2008, 02:24 AM thanks again, worked hard and on a budget:cheers: and 1980 was the last year of kick start and electric start:dthumb:

pic is old, but you get the idea. my key is bent, and my shield is scratched from hittin the key when the wheel comes back down lol. im gona get rid of the ignition and just use the kill switch tether as a "key"
this ones cool too
