F4i Guy 01-02-2005, 10:15 PM I'm new to riding this past summer, problem is, I only have like 1-2 people to ride with...gets kinda boring. Was wandering if anyone lives around the Baltimore, MD area lookin' for people to ride with? Whats the hot spots for bikes? I live in the Glen Burnie area, I see small groups here and there, but mostly there are not too sociable. So if there are any areas to hit up with friendly riders that ride like they have brains and like to live, please let me know!
Need4Speed 01-02-2005, 10:38 PM Im in York, PA...so is GSXR750DJ..... Look us up the next time you wanna ride, we'll come down or meet you somewhere. Also Stevnmd is from Maryland as well.
F4i Guy 01-02-2005, 10:47 PM York is about 1-1/2 hrs from me. I was actually thinking of moving there in a year or two. Nice houses at a fraction of the cost down here. I own a condo now, but the prices of houses around here are crazy! Sounds good, I would love to ride out there or meet you guys half way sometime.
A little off topic...about PA, I was told there are all kinds of taxes you have to pay in PA, in turn you pay as much to live there as you would here in MD. Is it like that with the taxes there?
Need4Speed 01-03-2005, 01:14 AM IMHO... York sucks..but that's just me living here for the last 31 years. To me it's boring, and hell, they just raised the occupational privlige tax to 50.00 F'n dollars!!! WTF!!!!!!! It's always been 10.00 !!
Certain parts of York are higher in taxes, like Dover especially..but it just depends on where ur lookin to move into.
Most people think York is pretty cool, or atleast OK. Im just bored with it.
Yah, we'll definately do some riding and tear it up!
Gas Man 01-03-2005, 05:58 AM F4iguy....just meet us all at the GAP in June!!!
F4i Guy 01-03-2005, 08:25 AM [QUOTE=Need4Speed750]they just raised the occupational privlige tax to 50.00 F'n dollars!!! WTF!!!!!!!
What tax is this? Does that come out of your check every week?
And where is the Gap? And when in June?

Every year countless bike & car clubs go there to ride... its a stretch of 11 miles with over 100 turns!! :dthumb: WOS (www.wideopensportbikes.com) (twisty, gas man, pippi, mudpuppy, chev, cerveja, ace) is going there the last week in May, for a week. F4i Guy 01-03-2005, 06:04 PM Sounds cool, probably wouldn't make it though. I used up all my vac. days until July :( Looks awesome too. I usually don't have a lot of time to take weekend trips or anything like that. I just stay local mostly.

When you guys coming to york ?
F4i Guy 01-07-2005, 06:28 PM As soon as it gets warm, I down for going...oh yeah, and as soon I as I get my license. I'm just not that comfy riding on a learners permit only across state lines, especially since it will expire in Feb. I'll ride around here everyday cuz I know how the cops are. Theres a waiting list to get in, so I'll get in around april. I'm just gonna take a course at HD. I tried the MVA on my bike at its pretty damn hard on a street bike. I guess April isn't that bad, it should start getting warm on a regular basis around then anyway.
So Steve, you down with going to PA when it gets warmer. By the way guys, I mentioned before I'm new to two wheels, so I won't be going like 90 mphs through the twisty mountains or whatever how PA is, that and I like my life. So hopefully you guys don't drive all crazy! I just can't get used to laying into a turn and hoping I don't hit some gravel and slide out. Guess I'll get over that the more I ride though. Sometimes I feel like I'm holding veteran riders back cause they have to wait up a lil' after weaving in and out of traffic or hairpin turns. So sorry in advance if it ends up like that. :leaving:
Need4Speed 01-07-2005, 07:21 PM The only way to get experience is to ride, so dont sweat it..we'll take it easy on you. We dont like squids so we dont ride like them. We have fun and go fast, but we arent stupid about it. But either way, we'll ride at your pace, as long as we have fun thats all that matters.
If you're riding with a good group of people, they wont mind waiting at the next stop sign for you to catch up. and if they do, they arent worth riding with. :skep:
We'll definately get together for a ride, me and DJ are always up for alittle road trip. Plenty of nice twisties and places to ride in our area!
F4i Guy 01-07-2005, 07:36 PM Good, thats the kind of people I'm lookin' to ride with. I don't mind going fast and gettin' in it...just not with traffic and twisty roads! When it gets warm out, we'll get something setup.
F4i Guy 01-20-2005, 10:25 AM Do you guys in this general area ever have any install meets? Get together and help each install stuff on your bikes and just hang out? There are a couple of things down the road I was thinking about gettin', but may need help or advice with the install, which I find easiest to do in person.

Let me know when and what I will be more then happy to help out. I know N4S will be there as well. :dthumb:
Need4Speed 01-20-2005, 02:17 PM I know DJ and I have some gauges we'd like to install soon.. sounds like a plan to me!!
F4i Guy 01-23-2005, 05:09 PM Good, now just have to find some stuff to get together to put on mine, or I'll just come to learn. I did gauge overlays in a car before, pretty easy to do. Hardest part is finding the right wire to hook power into. Who knows, I may be of some use on that installation.

F4i Guy 03-13-2005, 05:42 PM Do any of you guys in this area ever have any install meets? I'd like to tag along to learn more about working on bikes. I can work on cars, but don't know a damn thing about bikes when it comes to mechanical besides changing the oil.
Gas Man 03-13-2005, 09:57 PM Install meets?? Sounds like fun...but I'm not in the area...
