Which Vendors Do You Recommend?

Let me start this thread off by saying that I am completely new to the sport and looking to start ordering my gear shortly. I have spent the last 5 years working on Mustangs and dealing with a wide variety of vendors and for the most part my experiences were wonderful. I usually relied on the supporting vendors of my favorite forum as the forum was owned by a reputable shop and they didn't mess around with bad vendors. While my own experiences were good, I read hundreds if not thousands of posts about people who went to other various vendors and had terrible experiences. What I realized was that some vendors were hit or miss, others always sucked and few were always on top of their game and if something did go wrong, went well out of their way to correct it. So now that I am new to this forum and new to the sport I am curious as to what vendors others can recommend. I checked a couple of the ads around the forums as well as tried many of the sites I have seen advertised in my Sport Rider magazine. Because I am so new I have been looking for a wide variety of products, and a nice site layout as my main indicators of vending quality. Now that I have identified some gear that I am interested in price is becoming a little bit more of a concern when I can find my desired product. I would be more then willing to pay several extra dollars for a product if I know that I am buying from a stand up shop that will take care of me if something goes wrong in the transaction. My only problem now is that I don't know which sites to go to and which ones to avoid. I am hoping that this thread can highlight those for me and hopefully many others that join the forums and or MC industry. Thanks :dthumb:

I bought my helmet from www.helmetcity.com. They had the best prices on helmets, and they have free 2-day shipping. I ordered my helmet on a Friday and it was at my front door on the following Sunday. I haven't bought anything other than a helmet through them, but the person who referred me has bought a few from them, and he said he always gets great service and great prices, on every brand of helmet he's bought. Their gear selection isn't really the best I've seen, but it's not bad.

Welcome. I used ride-gear and motorcycle-superstore to get all of my gear. Had great experiences with both but I have heard of people having problems with ridegear since then. Also check new-enough.com. I'm assuming you have already tried all of the gear on at your local store? Google "(motorcycle-superstore.com) online coupons" or whichever store you are going through. Will save you quite a bit of money.

I'm assuming you have already tried all of the gear on at your local store? I forgot to mention that. Local shops are almost always more expensive when it comes to gear, but the good thing about them is that you can try on different brands to see which one fits the best and which size fits the best.

If you have a particular helmet in mind, PM motogiya on here. Im buying mine from him in the few minutes for a great price compared to msrp. He may be able to find a deal for you too.

Will save you quite a bit of money. There are several small stores around here and I am going to go around to them on Friday and try out various helmets. A friend of mine had a joe rocket jacket and Shoei helmet that I was able to try on and verify that I have a balloon sized head and will fit comfortably in a medium jacket. However I would like to try on a variety of other brans before ordering anything. Thanks for everyone's input, keep it coming!
