Wow - I kinda knew that this day would come but they just stole her today. I love this car and I am extremely pissed off right now. This area is just bad to have this kind of car but I've been lucky for years and it just sucks. She was in rough shape when I first bought her and I spent countless hours to get her to look as mint and original as possible and someone just took her from me like nothing. She had all the bells and whistles of 'so called security' club, alarm, engine cutoff ... but like they say - if they want it bad enough they will take it ... you can just throw as many obstacles as you can at them. I did not have full coverage on her since it is not worth it to have full coverage on any car that is more than 8 years old. Filed a police report but doubt that she is still in one piece. I was on the verge of dropping some loot on another bike before this happened - now I dont know. I wish I lived somewhere where I dont need a car but NJ is a 'must have cage' place with the winters. Maybe I'll wait till next winter to get something else ... I wish all thiefs d*ck cancer:cursin: Here she is (was): 1995 Acura Integra GSR http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/dizzydy/acura024.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/dizzydy/acura019.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/dizzydy/acura009.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/dizzydy/acura014.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y139/dizzydy/acura016.jpg

The Integra is one of the top stolen cars in the US and around the NYC tristate area. The gsr has an engine in it that redlines at 8100k rpm and does some crazy things when mated with a supercharger or a blower ... it does not help that it can easily drop into most civics :cursin: I got into an accident 3 year ago and they tried to total and estimate the value of my car at 4k! And to get it fully insured = $1600 more a year so the math did not work our for me ... I would have been out more $$. I've had the car for 6 years :(

Sorry to hear that. Thieves love those. My nephew had a brand new '98 GSR coupe and it was stolen in Boston. It's the dark blue one.

I feel you. I have a (tastefully restored, not ricey) 94 gsr and live in Southern California. It sucks to spend so much time and effort into making your car something you can be proud of, only to have someone snatch it from you. Luckily for me, I've only had my amber corners stolen and not the car, but it's a constant fear because there are always "my teg just got stolen" posts in the forum I often browse through for info (team-integra.net). It's ironic for me because i sold my '02 bmw 540i to get a cheaper car that I could still be proud of and happy with because I was always worried about messing up my bimmer and adding the miles on to it. Although I have no fear in adding miles to my integra, i realize now that I actually get more worried about it getting stolen than I did my BMW! Keep your head up- hope you're one of the lucky ones that actually gets their teg back in one piece.

to me, it is worth it to have full coverage on anything that you would have a hard time replacing if it is stolen. sure it may cost $1000 a year vs $400 but its still worth it. sorry to hear about your car!

I had full coverage so got the truck value covered but not the extras (bed cover, hitch, etc). Just a horribly violated feeling I had for a very long time. Sorry to hear that, that really sucks :(

Thanks for all the good wishes guys. I have reluctantly come to accept the fact that she is gone. As a matter of fact, I am not sure I even want to see her IF they recover whatever is left. About the insurance - you need to re-evaluate having comprehensive on your auto as your cage gets older. Value goes down as they age so you may be paying more in the long run. In my case I was told that my car is worth 4k in my insurance carriers eye so probably around 3k or less today:idk: So if I did not stop paying that extra $1600 that year I would have paid around $4500 over the past three years to get a 3k check today. I did save what I was not paying to the insurance company in a savings account with a decent return (well at least $3800) but I guess you have to be very disciplined with your finances to do this (I'm a geek when it comes to that). In the end it just comes down to the emotional loss and feeling violated. Well, riding season has been forced to come early to me so the bikes have been prepped as of yesterday and made for a wet commute today:dthumb: I'm hoping it warms up real quick around here!

Damn bud, that sucks. I always wanted to get a GSR, they pretty fun cars; sad that they replaced then with the RSX type s then the newcivic type s. The new civic is cool but i dunno i liked the idea of the integra and rsx (just seems more luxurious). what bike you riding btw? that looks like the 08' ninja 250?
