Saturday evening our six year old 57" Sony HD projection (probably the last of its kind) started having problems. This is the Red/Green/Blue gun variety that is a piece of furniture in your house, not an LCD projection. Anyway it appeared the red gun wasn't focused, so using my expert projection TV repair skills :ack: I took it apart and found some additional adjustments inside. They did nothing, the red gun is gone or going. There were some additional adjustments I saw but at the risk of electrocuting myself, I opted to leave them alone. Considering the age and service call cost in addition to the parts and labor to repair it, we opted for new TV. Consumer Reports March issue just so happened to rate TV's, lucky me. I went with plasma this time (bought a 32" LCD not too long ago) to keep the cost down since I needed a large TV for our living room. I went with a Samsung HP-T5054. Consumer Reports rated the 5064, but I needed a TV immediately and no one in town had one. The 5054 is the same TV sans USB port. So far so good, it looks great! http://i.pricerunner.com/prod/1_12_3_1_899694s/Samsung_HP-T5054.jpeg

Nice set. I just looked up the price. Too much cabbage for me. I have other home improvement projects to take care of, like replacing the entire A/C system. :flush::lol:

$1400 on sale. A/C unit, eh? Just, damn! That's $2-$4K ish? :yikes: At least. I'm just glad my house only needs a 2 ton unit. My main television is probably the only 32" CRT in the world. Maybe some day I'll get a real television. :nonod:
