A sticky mess

Hello all I am a new rider and i just picked up my new honda vtx1300c and put my saddlebags on and rode away. About a mile down the road i noticed a burning smell. Now i have burnt leather on my new side pipes. Can anyone offer help in cleaning up this mess?? Thanks.. Keith

You want to clean the leather, the sidepipes or both?

I was just interested in cleaning the pipes. I'm not that concerned with the botom of the bag.

havent i read somewhere you can use goo-b-gone, or goof off? I know ive used it for the rubber marks my boots use and it didnt cause any damage...
