Sorry to hear that. I wish I can tell you how to get a new one, but I don't have a clue. Never happened to me before. Good luck on getting a new key. Next time though, you might want to do what I always do which is to hook the key chain to the D-ring of your helmet so when you grab your helmet, your key would always be there. Hope this tip helps.

I used to work at a bike shop. For you to get a key made you need to bring one in or buy a new ignition swtich. People just steal a bike and guy a new ignition anyways. BIG problem from what i've heard from my employers.

Depending on what kind of bike it is dealers are limited to what keys they can make by code. For instance, if its a Suzuki with a one of many 4 digit key codes they have no way to create that key, they can only copy it. Moral of this story is to have more than one key.

BUt if you have that code... you can usually order a key from the manufacture

BUt if you have that code... you can usually order a key from the manufacture I had to do that on my old TL1000. Lucky for me I had the code written in my owners manual and the micro black steel tag with the code on it also. Suzuki called me a few days later to confirm the key and I had it in a week. that was in 2000. :luck:
