Well since I lowsided two weeks ago, and hit 16000 miles on my year old bike I figured it's about time to remodel to my liking. Permanently. :cheers:
So I started by removing the Two Bros Exhaust. It looked nice, but was insanely to loud for my liking after long rides on the weekends. Especially in excess of 400 miles at a time. So I replaced it with a Yoshimura TRC Tri Oval slip on. Which by the way feels much better on the throttle than the two bros ever did. It also sounds great with the baffle removed. Not nearly as annoying as the shorty GP exhausts.
Next came the new BMC race filter to replace the K&N. I must say the intake feels much better low end and mid range. I guess the critics were correct about BMC. Also remapped the PC to my liking, Yoshis definitely work much better with zook's. I could tell the difference almost immediately. The bike just wants to take off now, much smoother throttle response than the previous set up.
I replaced the shogun no cut sliders with Woodcraft sliders, which obviously required frame modification, but well worth it IMO. They are solid all the way through and should provide much more support in the event of another lowside.
Then came the TapeWorks rimstrips which are relfective white. Mostly for safety reasons, however they actually look insanely badass. So that was a nice touch, and highly recommended for anyone looking to add that extra accent to thier scooter.
16000 miles means new sprockets and drivechain. I opted to replace OEM sprockets with Vortex 15 tooth front 45 tooth rear for a -1 +2 set up for better low end throttle response and take off. The drivechain was replaced with a DID gold accent 525, heavy but very reliable and should add a nice look to the bike as well as many more miles.
Finally and last but not least I opted to replace my Qualifiers with Pirelli Diablo Corsa 3's. I liked the Dunlops and they are still a great tire, but they take entirely too long to warm up and on cold asphalt are a recipe for eating pavement. I've heard great things about these tires and my buddy runs them on his 1000rr, so we'll see.
