Finally! I've been wanting a Ducati for 15 yrs, and finally got one.
Man, what a blast to ride. Bought the 'S' model and nuthin says handling like Ohlins on a Ducati.

Can't wait to hear a full write up on it! 2FURYUS 07-13-2008, 01:35 PM Thanks, yeah its amazing. Took a little ride up the canyons and it put me to shame. It has more handling than I have huevos
It has damn near the same torque and 100+ lbs lighter then my hayabusa.
I compare the busa to a bull, and the Ducati is like a thoroughbred.
Can't wait til its broken in and then I can really put it thru the wringer. Back _Marker 07-13-2008, 02:10 PM beautiful bike bro...

Thanks, dude. I just can't put into words what a blast this thing is to ride. sfarson 07-13-2008, 10:46 PM Major congratulations - a special bike delivering a special experience. Icedman12 07-13-2008, 10:52 PM Hell yea thats bad ass! z06boy 07-16-2008, 04:28 PM I would say it has no where near the same HP as the Busa BUT yes you have an awesome bike...congrats.
I've ridden the 999 a few times but that's the extent of my Duc experience...very nice. sfarson 07-16-2008, 11:31 PM I would say it has no where near the same HP as the Busa BUT yes you have an awesome bike...congrats.
...
Yeah, about 13 less ponies, but with 120 less pounds to haul around, the 1098 has a nice power to weight advantage versus the Busa (1:3.14 vs. 1:3.64). z06boy 07-17-2008, 12:38 PM Yeah, about 13 less ponies, but with 120 less pounds to haul around, the 1098 has a nice power to weight advantage versus the Busa (1:3.14 vs. 1:3.64).
13 is all ? I honestly thought it was more than that.
160 Hp and 90 lbs/tq
This isn't the "R" model...right ?
The Busa only has 173 hp ? What year Busa ? PlayfulGod 07-17-2008, 06:51 PM sweet. Nice bike Furyus 2FURYUS 07-17-2008, 08:56 PM 13 is all ? I honestly thought it was more than that.

Your #'s are correct....not the "R" model, and my busa is '00' model, so yes #'s are quite comparable......except for weight. lol
sweet. Nice bike Furyus
Thanks, dude. sfarson 07-18-2008, 01:41 AM 13 is all ? I honestly thought it was more than that.

Pulled the figures from Motorcycle Consumer News... HP at the rear wheel. Not the 1098R.
1098s: 138hp
Busa (Pre-'08): 151hp z06boy 07-18-2008, 09:27 AM I didn't realize my R1 had more HP than a pre 08 Busa. I know the Busa has more torque.
I've only ridden one Busa...for about a week recently... an 05 but it was turbocharged with 255-267 rwhp depending on boost and well over 100 rwtq...what a beast.
Same guy owned the 999 that I rode.
Compared to past Ducati's price/performance wise...the 1098 is a good buy...awesome bike.:dthumb: | |
