Ill try to get him to join over here :) ShanMan14 07-27-2004, 07:24 PM Holy shiznit!! Jenn, you gotta get him to join up and tell us about this bike. Need4Speed 07-27-2004, 07:35 PM Damn..now thats some serious wheels there...I'd like to know what he else he had done to it too. officermartinez 07-27-2004, 08:10 PM Hi everyone.. I'm Mike.. Well I am a newbie to this site but not to sportbikes.. I am the proud owner of the 2001 Chameleon and Orange Suzuki GSXR 1000. The frame, subframe, rims, exhaust can, and misc parts have been powder coated. The body is shot with DuPont Chromaflair Chameleon and the graphics/rear wheel hugger are painted with House of Kolor Neon Orange. As far as power is concerned, the horsepower was slightly bumped up with the help of a Yoshimura EMS, TiForce Titanium full exhaust system, K&N air filter.. There are TOO many extras to mention and has to be seen in person to better appreciate the work that went into it.. Not braggin, im just a proud gixxer owner..lol. Thanks everyone for the comments Need4Speed 07-27-2004, 08:50 PM Damn!! I'd say so...I'd be proud too, thats a sweet ride, sounds like she's your baby  :bike: ShanMan14 07-27-2004, 08:53 PM Thanks for joining up. Oh Thrills.. you know you have a special reserved seat on the bike anytime! I have a few more pictures so lemme see what I can find.. (some of the pictures might be a little older than others as you will see some without the graphics painted on the fairings..) ..OK, I cant figure out how to post a picture.. I am more pathetic than I thought..haha!
Graphics 01.JPG thrills 07-27-2004, 11:25 PM Mike sent you an IM about how to get it to show up!
BTW I sent you a PM on SBH too :) officermartinez 07-27-2004, 11:58 PM Here are a few.. smoky03 07-28-2004, 09:08 AM Man, that looks awesome TL1000 07-28-2004, 09:56 AM dood!!!!!!!! thats freakin awesome!!!! hwo much did that cost? Need4Speed 07-28-2004, 02:22 PM Now thats a serious beast...way cool!! Todd 07-28-2004, 03:23 PM That is some seriously crazy paint - how does the can stay orange? Need4Speed 07-28-2004, 03:43 PM That is some seriously crazy paint - how does the can stay orange?
its gotta be some serious multiple layers of powder coating... officermartinez 07-28-2004, 07:10 PM The exhaust can, can withstand temperatures up to 400 degree's so it does just fine. For all of the powder coating that was done, i would estimate that it can be duplicated for around $1,500 to $1,800 dollars. The fairings (on the left and right side) had the front blinkers fiberglassed over (PICTURE ATTACHED BELOW) and I incorportated the blinkers just under the frame sliders (powder coated the blinker mounts..hahaha). The Chameleon paint goes for about $30 dollars an ounce. The paint itself was expensive and I had 4 coats of DuPont Clear Coat shot on to protect the finish. The House of Kolor orange paint was a little less expensive and ended up costing about $75 bucks for a pint. I still plan on adding a Suzuki Gel Seat and a crash cage (powder coated orange also). I really appreciate everyones comments! Suzuki peeps stick together! ..hahaha! officermartinez 07-30-2004, 07:59 AM If anyone is interested, a group of us are trying to put a ride together this weekend on saturday in the DFW area. If you are close by, and want to ride, let me know... Mike Need4Speed 07-30-2004, 10:15 AM only bad thing about being on board like this, is we all are all only a few clicks away when were online, but we all live so far apart... :nonod: ...maybe Shan can organize a big TWF party somewhere in the middle of country so we can all attend..at some point  ShanMan14 07-30-2004, 02:04 PM only bad thing about being on board like this, is we all are all only a few clicks away when were online, but we all live so far apart... :nonod: ...maybe Shan can organize a big TWF party somewhere in the middle of country so we can all attend..at some point
I'd love to do something like that, but I think that's a way off in our future. Need4Speed 07-30-2004, 03:45 PM I'd love to do something like that, but I think that's a way off in our future.

anytime I see someone who has put so much time/effort/money into their ride to make it look/perform at its peek..just gotta give the guy props. Need4Speed 08-03-2004, 01:08 PM have you ever taken it to any shows at all? officermartinez 08-05-2004, 02:30 AM It has only been in one show.. It was with the other paint scheme that was on it (blue body, frame was the same color as it is now).. The bike show was in Daytona Florida back in Aug of last yr. It took home a second place trophy.. There were hundreds of bikes at the bike show.. Not too shabby. Here is the other scheme that it USED to be: Need4Speed 08-05-2004, 09:17 AM thats pretty sweet too, but reminds me of the denver broncos.. ..but seriously, I like your new scheme much better, and yeah 2nd place isnt too damn bad  officermartinez 08-06-2004, 02:54 AM It does scream DENVER BRONCOS doesnt it..haha. Twisty - You should see it.. It is FUNNY as H*LL to see both of our neon bikes riding next to each other.. We have almost caused a few automobile accidents from people staring at us while they are driving. I guess the desired result has been achieved (PEOPLE notice us)..lol. I am a big fan of powder coating as y'all can see from the picture below! btw..who did the GSXR cut-out on your chain guard ? GSXR1000DJ 09-05-2004, 11:29 AM Damn. Now that is sweet for a womens bike. Great job on it. :) officermartinez 09-05-2004, 03:18 PM Thanks everyone! Oh, the chain guard was already laser cut with the GSXR logo when I bought it off of Ebay.. valpoboyzkenny 09-11-2004, 07:23 AM you know i think he can legaly sit on that bike while hunting in the woods and still be covered by the safety orange rule! officermartinez 09-11-2004, 09:29 AM Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.. Never thought of it that way but I bet you are right! officermartinez 10-01-2004, 03:03 AM Well I am just about done with my wifes bike.. I finally purchased a bolt on exhaust can and a rear seat cowl, which was repainted to match her paint scheme.. Here is a list of everything that i can recall, that was done to the bike:
*Powder coated both rims, both mirror mounts, all 4 rear sets with all 4 footpegs, both air intake grill guards, the bar ends, the side stand, the chain guard, the triple tree clamp, her keys, the LP / Blinker bracket, the clutch and brake levers, the gas cap, the inspection sticker bracket and both heel guards..
*Bought and installed the following:
a K&N air filter
a new side stand
a new WylieCo Bolt on exhaust can
a new set of rear blinkers
an Ohlins Steering damper
a new RRP 520 rear sprocket (1 up in the rear)
a new front sprocket (stock gearing)
a new 520 chain
a GSXR logo'd chain guard
a "suzuki gsxr" hot pink vinyl sticker kit (custom made)
a set of rear stand spools
a rear seat cowl (it was repainted to match the custom grey dupont paint)
a "factory gsxr logo'd" tank bra
a new brake lever
a lockhart phillips dark smoke double bubble wind screen
a new set of bar ends
a new battery
a new set of Metzeler M1 Tires (120 front / 180 rear)
In addition to the above items, the bike was taken locally to a great motorcycle mechanic (http://www.gmh-xtreme.com/) and given a FULL service. All of the "old" fluids were flushed and new fluids were poured (IE.. Oil, fork, brake, etc.. I went with a Synthetic Oil - Silkolene). A K&N oil filter was replaced for the old tired stock oil filter. The stator cover had some cosmetic damage so it was removed and repaired/repainted. The rear brake caliber was dissassembled and rebuilt back to factory specs. The bike was lowered when I bought it (The guy i purchased the bike from was a very short oriental guy).. It was soooo low that the rear tire had rubbed a HOLE into the rear undertail. So, the bike was raised back up to stock height (momentarily) and re-lowered to accomodate my wifes height and weight (basically it was lowered 1 inch from stock height). The rear tail fairing and rear undertail was removed, repaired and repainted. The ENTIRE blinker system was re-wired by yours truly and a cheesy strobe light that was on the bike when I bought it, was removed. A few other small insignificant things were done to finalize my work up to this point.. I still intend on powder coating the rear swing arm, subframe and front fairing stay. Might also purchase a suzuki gel seat. The frame will be powder coated eventually but it is on the back burner for the time being.. Need4Speed 10-01-2004, 05:41 AM HOLY MODS BATMAN!!
