Only seen him on tv, but....sometimes he seems pretty cool, other times he looks like a real weenie. Anybody had any real experiences with him? :skep:
Jesse James....cool or a tool?2FURYUS 01-13-2005, 12:59 PM Only seen him on tv, but....sometimes he seems pretty cool, other times he looks like a real weenie. Anybody had any real experiences with him? :skep: twisty 01-13-2005, 01:04 PM he use to cool but he is sell=out tool now Pigface1 01-13-2005, 01:22 PM I've never met him, but he seems cool enough.
I can't stand the Orange County guys, though, and by most things I've heard, they're complete azzholes. 2FURYUS 01-13-2005, 01:43 PM Drove by his shop this a.m. while out on the road..... wasn't real impressed (looks a lot nicer on tv) and it's in a real dumpy part of town. :puke: ShanMan14 01-13-2005, 01:51 PM I've only seen parts of the show a few times. He seemed like a jerk, but I can't say that's accurate since I've never seen a whole episode. Low 01-13-2005, 02:09 PM I think he’s just an individual in his own right... It might be cool to party with the guy... but you can never tell from just seeing him on TV. However, Those OCC Cats I can't even stand to watch that Soaps for Men Show... I just waiting to see some Chicks on the show and they can move it to day time...
And neither of their bikes are all that cool looking....anymore :spam:
- :leaving: Need4Speed 01-13-2005, 03:38 PM Gimme OCC anyday over Jesse James
Everybody can be called a sellout these days..hey, u can't blame them for going where the money is!! wouldnt you? as long as their quality of bikes doesn't suffer, what can you say? OCC's bikes have gotten bigger & better since they came onto the scene. 3BoyzNaBike 01-13-2005, 03:49 PM JJ is alright! I don't mind watching his stuff every now and then. I would take OCC over them. They do some really good work in my opinion! :pat: 2FURYUS 01-13-2005, 04:30 PM JJ seems like fame & fortune have gone to his head..... maybe different in person. He would definitely be an interesting dude to meet.
I like OCC, but sometimes they're bikes look like they are just bolting accessories onto them. Pigface1 01-13-2005, 05:56 PM Jesse James builds bikes from the ground up, OCC doesn't. GSXR1000DJ 01-13-2005, 10:15 PM I just like watching them all. Sell out or not, when it comes down to it...they all can out build me anyday. Need4Speed 01-13-2005, 10:16 PM Jesse James builds bikes from the ground up, OCC doesn't.
what do you mean they dont build them from the ground up.. OCC makes the frames, from the oc ironworks shop right next door..the fabricate the tank, bars, fenders, everything, they do all the wiring, assemble it from sratch. :here: No Worries 01-13-2005, 10:39 PM I liked Indian Larry, RIP. His old school bikes were OK, but I liked his philosophy the best. bulldog 01-13-2005, 11:14 PM Only seen him on tv, but....sometimes he seems pretty cool, other times he looks like a real weenie. i havent but my football coach has seen him (he was a cop at a convention or something?) but i guess jesse has some cars he is building nobody has seen and he let my coach take a peek under the hood and everything they talked for a little while coach said he was tight (he is who got me into bikes evenb though i dont like that style anymore jesse is a badass !!!!!!!!) my auto teacher met him too and he said that he is a dick on T.V to look cool but in person he is just an average joe
plus he does a lot of stuff for kids and stuff so i think he is a cool guy living his dream bulldog 01-13-2005, 11:16 PM I liked Indian Larry, RIP. His old school bikes were OK, but I liked his philosophy the best.
i heard larry died but i havent seen anything on T.V. abiout it??? he was all popular and everything then he dies and everyone forgets about him ??? thats jacked and he was a good guy too :pat: Rodogg04 01-14-2005, 02:42 AM my cousin said he met JJ in Sturgis. said he was a pretty cool guy to talk to. showed me a few pictures. all the MONSTER shows are getting kind of old. OCC is the only thing on the tube to get my bike fix!!! CharlieMavCBR 01-14-2005, 08:13 AM Eh, I'm really not into JJ or OCC! I watched a few of the OCC ones. And the one that caught my attention, was when they made the POW/MIA bike! I LOVED that. And to be honest that was the last show of OCC I watched. 2FURYUS 01-14-2005, 09:17 AM i heard larry died but i havent seen anything on T.V. abiout it??? he was all popular and everything then he dies and everyone forgets about him ??? thats jacked and he was a good guy too :pat:
Indian Larry was doing a stunt on his bike, standing on the seat, went into a low speed wobble, cracked his noggin (no helmet) and kicked the bucket, or so I read in a bike magazine. twisty 01-14-2005, 09:53 AM Morron.... Every show I've watched they buy the frames, handle bars, etc. . I've seen them fabricate almost nothing.
Personally, I don't watch any of the shows anymore.
There's a bike shop in Scottsdale called Hacienda, they just sell custom bikes. But there are some sick bikes in there. . a lot of Paul Yaffes, but I've heard mixed things about him. However, last time I was there they had one called a Spider that came from Germany. I've never been able to find anything else about it, but it was around $60k I think, all black. I like going into the shops and checking out bikes, but the whole chopper guy attitude is just worn out, so I don't watch any of those shows anymore really. Just a lot of Reno 911. pickle.of.doom 01-14-2005, 12:44 PM What were those first shows, before monster garage and occ, on Discovery that featured JJ... Motorcycle Mania 1 and 2 I think? Anyway, those were really good, done very well... 3BoyzNaBike 01-14-2005, 12:46 PM Eh, I'm really not into JJ or OCC! I watched a few of the OCC ones. Yes that was a very nice bike they did! Also like the bike they did for the NYPD. Heck I think I had tears in my eyes when they delivered it! Pigface1 01-14-2005, 12:50 PM That's another thing. OCC makes a ton of money from their show, but they still charge for all of these bikes they're "giving" to "charity." I just think they're full of ****. :willy: bulldog 01-14-2005, 06:05 PM Every show I've watched they buy the frames, handle bars, etc. . I've seen them fabricate almost nothing.

that is not true they build the whole thing themselves and sometimes even get a custom motor Need4Speed 01-14-2005, 06:30 PM Every show I've watched they buy the frames, handle bars, etc. . I've seen them fabricate almost nothing.

I agree the chopper genere has definately been taken to new heights, and does get quite sickening after awhile. I just watch it because the creativity and talent that is on display each show, with their bikes and ideas for fabrication are amazing. the price tags for them certainly are amazing too!
But yes, they actually do fabricate every part of thier bikes, from the frame on up, sometimes they will get a custom engine depending on the theme or what the customer wants, otherwise they use a standard engine many times..but it always has their trademark on it and built especially for their bikes.
:) Pigface1 01-14-2005, 08:03 PM Now I'm gonna have to go back and find where I read that. Thanks a lot.  JK_DILLA 01-15-2005, 07:24 PM I like jesses asthetic better than OCC. Whats it called when you "add" to and not "chop" a bike? kuz thats OCC.
i used to watch those shows for the fabrication, now what little fabrication there is to do isnt the focus so im nolonger interested.
i saw some biker build offs and liked Indian Larry. he seemed to be clear about himself. Yaffe is a yuppie half-wit and you couldnt pay me to ride his predictable bikes. :willy: y2k4gsxr600 01-15-2005, 10:44 PM i myself am a fan of jesse james...as far as occ goes i have met them .are nice people . i had a decent conversation with ..one of the fabricators..( campo ) definitly a wild guy.....i dont really watch the shows anymore because there always rerun's ...so i watch wrestling instead....indian larry definitly was an awesome guy..so is billy lane ( choppers inc) now he is a true fabricator everything in house builds frame and everything .....all the shows i watched of occ i dont recall them buillding there frames....some shops are fabricators some are just assemblers ...but in the end they all build some wild bikes that i will probably never afford! :2cents: bulldog 01-15-2005, 10:52 PM i dopnt think that the frame is really a key part to custom they do the major work like tank fenders bars ect. | |
