I have seen them on the net on other sites and heard they were pretty good for the price. They don't look to bad. Are you thinking of getting them??

They look ok! I would love to see some more up close pics of the hardware (ie; L-bracket, spool slot) and how well the wheels are mounted!!

I am curious as to what the brand is. Doesn't say in the ad (unless I missed it) and don't want to speculate. There are great stands on the market that don't cost a ton of money, and if you're using them for a street bike, there are many decent choices available that are sturdy and won't cost you an arm and a leg.

They look just like the junk that Lock Hart sales. Just save your $$$ and get some Pit Bull stands You wont ever have to replace them.:2cents: Unless your wife runs over one in the garage that she is not supposed to be in! :cursin:

Those are Handy Stands. They are made in Iowa. I got a set for my f4i for xmas. They are solid and extremely simple to use. they can be ordered for spools or universal. I got the universal rears. they have adjustable pads that lift the rear arm. Go to Handy's website and order them. They build them for virtually any motorcycle. I believe mine were 112.00 including shipping to Florida. Handy is a fabricator of heavy equipment, and is just getting into making stands. maybe someone there bought a sportbike and designed a stand? I recommend them.

I have Redline front and rear stands. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done! Around $100 for both.

I have Redline front and rear stands. Nothing fancy, but they get the job done! Around $100 for both. I looked at the Red line stands...and they make what appears to be a quality product. Go online to http://www.handyindustries.com/ and look at their products. After talking with the people at Handy, I ordered theirs.

I have seen them in my Cycle World mag in the classified adds. It only a small add but it got my attention with only $100 for both. Never seen them up close. If any one can...post up a pic or 2 so we can see a closer look at them. :dthumb:

Dayum those are a helluva lot cheaper then Pitbull stands.. I was looking at 265 for the set.. I'd say thats a damn good deal for 2 stands.. How much different could stands be as long as they support the weight..

How much different could stands be as long as they support the weight.. i realize that pitbull stands are nice due to the light weight ao if you are constantly using them and lugging them around the light weight may be more appealing but for me I would only use them every now and then... does anyone store their bike up on stands for the winter so the tires don't flatspot??

Gas man has a thread around here on the Handy Stands already. They are considered Good on his recommendation. Obviously Pitbull is the best, but handy's are more than adequate for the price. I got the adjustable spooled rear from pitbull but I'm getting a Handy front for the winter storage. Tater- it's not so much worying about flat spots, but the rubber lasts longer and is in better shape for the spring riding if you keep it out of the moisture and condensation that you get on the concrete floors in the winter. In the winter storage thread, it was recommended that if you can afford the front stand to do so. And if you don't have stands, re-park the bike a few times to rotate the tires.

what don't you like about it specifically... if you don't mind me asking.. If his are like mine...the fronts have these rubber tips that look like hershey's kisses on the ends of the tubes...you line the "kisses" up with the holes in the bottom of the forks...If you don't get them on just right, the forks slide off when you try to lift...it takes some concentration and practice to get good at it...

I just ordered a set today... (handy) You Purchased: Qty Price ProductID Product Name ---------------------------------------------------------- 1 89 13012 FRONT/REAR UNIVERSAL STAND PACKAGE - BOBBIN SUPPORT (SPOOLS) ---------------------------------------------------------- Subtotal = $89.00 USD Shipping = $17.91 USD Total = $106.91 USD back in the days, I had the crappy rear lockhart stand (bike fell off a few times). unfortunately, i'll probably make a wooden front frame stand for removing the tripple tree (steering head). I used to hang the front from the garage ceiling beam. -a|ex

Ok, I got the HANDY stands last week, just got to using it today.. The rear stand is perfect. I have the L rubber pads. All i do is hold my passenger handles and push down on the stand. Steady as a rock. The front stand however I don't understand how it works. I guess it could fit inside the forks but its at such an extreme angle I haven't been able to lift it yet.... If anyone has any input on the front stands that would be helpful.. thanks.

I'm not sure about the handy stands... I however, have owned/used both a fork stand and a front tripple/pin stand. Which do you have? Where does it lift from?

dubbs
09-25-2006, 08:07 AM
It lifts from the bottom of the forks.. The stand has those "Hershey Kiss" ends to it. That looks to be the only place it lifts from.

yes...those nipples fit under the front forks and are tricky to learn how to use. The first few times you lift the front, you might want someone to hold the bars. unless the bars/front wheel are absolutely straight, the nipples won't lift properly and the bike will slip off...It takes time and practice

I got the front's on, will post pics soon... Only the small metal tab fits under the forks, so theres not much holding it there, the stands sway side to side a bit especially the front one because its not "beefy" enough, but she stays put and makes it really easy to work on.. Its about a foot in the air... Will post pics of the bike on both stands when I get home today!
