:whistle: NHL union tries to reopen talks with owners January 18, 2005 TORONTO, Canada (AFP) - The National Hockey League's players union has invited the league back to the table in a last-ditch effort to save the 2004-2005 season. The meeting will take place on Wednesday at an undisclosed location, the Canadian media reported on Monday. The report said the two sides will have a "small group meeting" involving NHL vice present Bill Daly and NHLPA vice president Ted Saskin, but league commissioner Gary Bettman and union boss Bob Goodenow will not be in attendance. Also expected to attend are NHL chairman of the board Harley Hotchkiss, NHLPA president Trevor Linden and assorted legal staff. It will be the first time since December 14 that the sides have met in attempt to end the lockout, which is in its 124th day. I've given up on any hope of this season long ago... now with all the talk going on lately i'm more worried about next season as well... This is gonna suck real bad for the wings, by the time hockey comes back to town half of our players will be too old to play... a lot were already on their last year or 2... Hull, Yzerman, Chelios... many others too..

What a complete bust...let em sit..they sat this long, whats the point now..if they do play the level of competition for the season will be so diminished from everybody sitting around all these months its just not worth it IMO
