Only mods are a Yosh pipe, K&N air filter and re-map.....what else does a 'busa need? Just put some Michelin HPX's on it, and they are the best tires I've ever had on it. Handles better than the Bridgestone's and Dunlop's I've used in the past. A little pricey though, but worth it. Really enjoy it.... everytime I ride it, it still thrills the he$$ outa me. I've been fortunate enough to have never been down on this bike. Been on several long distance trips with it, and it's fairly comfy....

Is that the limited edition ? I just ordered mine. How do you like it ? Yeah it's the limited. I absolutely love it. I mean of course the difference in weight between the busa and any 1k is most definitely noticeable, but still a 1k just doesn't compare to the looks of the Busa or seeing people's faces when you tell them what you ride.

I have an 04 Ltd. I put a full Micron exhaust; Heli bars and a ZG dubbub. I really am happy with this bike. I went from a Y2K V Star 1100 to a ZRX1100 to the Busa. The ZRX is a really a fun bike (so fun that I kept it...) but the Busa excels in every area. Power, acceptable comfort and a great handler. Scarface

I'm surprized the busas solo is hard to take off... the Z1000/6R is just a snap on snap off thing, but then agian we dont get a grab bar and sometimes it would be sooo nicve for one.. easier to stretch out on the bike while still riding on it. And yes all very nice bikes. And im pretyt sure pre-03 Busas had solo tails.. but may not be standard equipment.... And wheres a 04 limited with black flames... that bike would the SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTTT that red with the glossed looking black rims and bright black flames... id sell the Z1K and buy it on the spot..lol then NOS it. and a polished Black can and all controls all black.. DREAM BIKE and wouldnt be afraid to ride it like hell all the time

i think they just arnt launching it as well.... The busa is flat out faster off hte line or top speed while you are going stright... but the more power your bike has... the harder it is to launch hard and not wreck. Get a guy qho takes it to the strip every saturday and see if you can beat him off the line on a decent launch.

14funs750
07-28-2005, 02:40 PM
Just to let you know. That every time I race that 750 I'm not really on it. The bike is very violent out of the hole and very hard to keep down. Not to mention that every time I race him it is from traffic light to traffic light in traffic. I went from a 750 to the Busa about 4 months ago. I am still learning about the bike and do not want to wreck it or have my pal with his 750 trying to kill himself keeping up. Most of the time I keep short shifting. just to keep us both alive. :chill:

just a literbike at 900-100ccs is hard.. and the busa's got 20+ lbs of torque on them.... Most the guys running sub 10 sec passes pratice alot and most of them run wheelie bars.

Rider is ALL of the skill in drag racing and what makes things fast or slow. But i still think a higher horsepower and torque bike is harder to launch HARD.... any higher power bike is gona take off harder on the same power launch, but the difference is who can control that extra 20hp and lbs of torque to make it faster then the weaker bike. I can't imagine how hard it would be to make a 300HP bike stay on the ground to have a chance against a 600 just because it would be so easy to flip.. even with a half soft launch. I know my 1000 is hard to beat my friends SV650 on a short light to light just cuz if we are accelerating at the same speed side by side.. my front wheel is lifting while hes flat on the ground.... its the shift to second that he dissapears behind me.

Yeah busa are a beast but we love to tame them. I currently ride in germany , But am from NYC and yes the Nurburgring is every riders Wet-dream blended with the feeling of riding on just adrenaline. I actually dont remember the ride because It was a big blur. It was definitely the most scariest and exciting ride of my life. But I recommend every ryder take a trip out there is possible. The ring is Unforgetable!!!! :yikes:

What's up guys? I'm a Busa owner. I had a '01 R1 as a first bike and I traded it in for a all black '07 last September 26. I put over 47,000 miles on my R1 in 1 year and 11 months and they gave me $3900 for it. I got my Busa for $6900 OTD. So far, I put over 8,900 miles on it since September 26. I absolutely love it. I put PUIG d/b windscreen, K&N filter, Yoshi RS3 exhausts, and Corbin seat. I've done a couple of 12+ hour rides and it's very, very comfortable.
