Well, considering the DMV test was created by MSF, yeah, they're similar. But you should still get the handbook and study up. There will be notes or self-test questions on various pages of the book, usually near the end of the page. Pay special attention to those notes and questions.
furorange 02-16-2005, 01:23 AM Good on MSF test = good on DMV test.
You should not have any problems, just don't read too much into the questions.
Gas Man 02-16-2005, 02:29 AM I agree with Fur...you'll be fine as long as you pay attention to the small details!!
2FURYUS 02-16-2005, 12:22 PM Just make sure you read the DMV manual.
Cali is known to have some unusual questions. :luck:
fatburg 02-16-2005, 12:26 PM :iagree: Ya...what they said :luck: Just think like you were riding and it is a breeze.
GSXR1000DJ 02-16-2005, 12:35 PM Its easy, don't worry about it. if you did that good on e the MSF, you have nothing to worry about.
Mudpuppy 02-16-2005, 12:49 PM Just slip a "jackson" to the beotch behind the counter and you are straight.. lol.. Seriously though here in Michigan the tests are the same..

well the MSF was really a STUPID test it was all plain common sence so i hope i pass the DMV one!!!
thirdgenlxi 02-16-2005, 07:21 PM Man here in Florida, if you pass the MSF class you don't even need to take a test at the DMV. You just walk in with your MSF completion card, wait in line for about 4-5 hours (I was lucky today, I only waited 3 hours!), pay them $15 and they issue you a new drivers license with the motorcycle endorsement on it. I didn't know other places they still made you take a test too, LOL

That's the same as Michigan. If you take the MSF, all you have to do is the written!

Yes this is true. I forgot about that. Its been like 9 years since I took my test, etc. and now I just renew by mail.. I forgot I slipped the "jackson" to the road test lady not the secretary of state (DMV).. lol..
pickle.of.doom 02-17-2005, 12:53 PM The written test is kind of a joke... I went with one of my friends when he took his... He failed, lady showed him which ones he got wrong and what the right answers were, and then handed him a new test...
Gas Man 02-17-2005, 02:18 PM Got to love it Pickle!!!

I spent 3.5 hours just for a state ID. All the DMV offices in FL are full all the time. if you don't get there early you might not get to do anything.

Our DMV here in Pa used to be like that till they built the new one. It doesn't matter how full they are now, you are in and out in no time at all. I love it. Now the old one, you could be there for hrs and still have not moved in line.
bulldog 02-17-2005, 06:47 PM shoot our DMV is hella slow too it takes like an hour to be seen (with an oppointment) i wont gop without an oppointment!!!

I renew by mail. Best way. Otherwise the one in Canton and Livonia are pretty quick around here. I just got my bike plate renewal - they are changing it here in Michigan from everyone in March to your birthday.

Ours is set up by last name, with the exception of personalized plates. Names that start with certain letters renew at certain months. I'm in July. However, all personalized plates are in April. You have to "reserve" them in October for a fee, then you have to renew them in April for another fee.

Yeah, I got mine too. Wasn't too bad...only $3 more than last year to get me to May 2006...total $26
