Motorcycle Repair Technician Program (http://www.educationdirect.com/motorcycle/)
i've seriously been thinking about enrolling in this program. it's $613 if you pay all at once, so the price isn't too bad. this is something i've been wanting to get into for a long time. i've got a fairly extensive background in automotive repair and would like to get into bikes, and this seems like a pretty good way to at least get my foot in the door. what do you guys think?

Not a bad price... at least you would always have a skill that you could fall back on if you decided to do something else...

that's what i was thinking. then even if i couldn't find a job as a technician, i could at least save a ton of money by working on my own bike, and even make some money on the side by working on other peoples bikes.

Price sounds really good to me. When are you thinking of doing it if you do?

yeah, i worked at a dealership for awhile and hated it. they made you rush EVERYTHING.
gas man- it's an online class, so i would do the work whenever i had time.

Sounds good to me!
My wife wanted me to take a class like that (because I do most of my owen work anyway) so I could get a local job and get of the road (truck driver) I enjoy working on my owen bikes, cars and Big truck when its not broke. I just hate having to fix something so it will go.
Then she found out how little you make working for somebody else and changed her mind.
A friend at the local Stealer makes about $500 a week if he is lucky. He makes as much or more at home doing the same thing with the $$$$$ under the table.

Ya, dealership jobs aren't the way to go as a mechanic. Better off starting your own garage!!
