Buy the seat cowl and fabricate your own undertail. It's really quite simple. http://www.twowheelforum.com/showthread.php?t=3083 Oh, and keep an eye out on eBay for the seat cowl. I picked mine up for about $30 less than what Yamaha was asking and it's brand new. Even came in the Yamaha box.

Undertail! But you should post pics of your stock undertail to help everybody decide better!! Chris, his stock undertail should look exactly like mine. That's why I say to go ahead and buy the solo cowl and just do the undertail himself. It's SOOOOOOOO easy.

Hey Capt, do you have an intergrater kit so your tailights work as your blinkers or do you just not have any blinkers for now? That looks good but the light wire is too exposed for me. No offense but I only paid 20 bucks for the bracket I have now and the lights were another twenty. My only regret is I should have bought the black bracket.

I just read your entire post and found out you do have an intergrater kit. Did you install it or what? How easy or how much was it?

I just read your entire post and found out you do have an intergrater kit. Did you install it or what? How easy or how much was it? It's EXTREMELY simple to install. Cost is about $80 (you can get them through speedwerks and they are a site sponsor). It's a complete taillight and it plugs directly into your stock harness. The only thing you have to hook up are the turn signal wires, which was easy as well. Do you know how to remove your undertail section? Once that's removed, there are three more of the little plastic rivets on the taillight assembly. Remove those and then put the new assembly in place. Plug it into your stock harness, splice into the turn signal wires (you may need the resistors if you don't already have LED's for turn signals), then put it all back together. I didn't need to use the resistors because I already have some because I bought flush mount signals for the front. As for the license plate light wire on my personal eliminator kit, yeah, I'm not thrilled with it being exposed, but I haven't thought of another way to do it yet. If I turn that back bracket around so the wire goes immediately into the fender, then the bulb is touching the plate. I'll come up with something, but I wanted to get rid of that ugly fender immediately, so this is good enough for now. I have a couple ideas, but I just need to get around to searching for the hardware. Oh, and if you want the black bracket for your bike, just grab some 400 grit sandpaper, a tack rag, some primer and then some black paint. It won't take any time at all and you'll have the black bracket that you want. ;) Also, your fender eliminator is fine, except for the fact that you need a light to be completely legal. If I were you, I definitely would not spend the $180+ that those guys want for that kit you posted at the top. Get the solo cowl, you already have the fender eliminator. ;)

I dont care. If it doesnt make you turn faster laptimes, it is just not worth it. My guess would be that he's a street rider and doesn't care about lap times. I would say go for the cowl first. The undertails are really sporadic in being able to get them right now. You may be able to buy one from hotbodies directly, but you'll have to pay retail. I'd wait for the undertails until they are a little easier to get (it's another couple of weeks before they'll have all of the models available to us).

Looks good, Derek. I see you have the flip-up tag mount. Now that you have the cowl, you can pull off the passenger pegs. ;) That's what I'm doing with mine. I'm going to get rid of the passenger pegs and fabricate an exhaust hanger. :D
