Pigface1 02-18-2005, 01:29 PM I know some of you don't like oval racing, no problem.
For those of you that do, who's your driver this weekend? I love all kinds of motorsports, from bikes to boats to oval to rally. But, nothing beats Daytona or Talladega, IMO. 43 cars in a pack, 3 wide, 195 mph door to door is f'n nuts. :here: And it's LOUD.

GsxrJack 02-18-2005, 01:37 PM I love all kinds of racing also, will be watching daytona this sunday...dont have a favorite driver, just want to see some nice passing and a close finish... :dthumb:
2FURYUS 02-18-2005, 03:50 PM Never been to an oval race..... I work the Long Beach Grand Prix every yr, but I would definitely like to see a Nascar race in person.
#8, #8, #8, #8...enough said.
Glad to see the racing season underway. I'm also excited to watch T. Labonte, Wallace, and Martin in their last full season of Cup. These guys are part of that crew that made this sport. Martin is the only one without a championship (of the 3) and a good ole boy...I'll be pulling for him all year. The "kids" will have their chance, this is Martin's last.
Mudpuppy 02-18-2005, 04:57 PM I am a Roush fan all the way - Michigan IS Roush country - 6, 16, 17, 97 & 99 all the way. I do like the ol' # 88 and of course the # 8 as well. We started a pool for this weekend - should make it interesting. Just like football squares...
Pigface1 02-18-2005, 05:43 PM I was betting the races last season, makes it interesting. But, you may as well just throw your money away doing that, at least w/ squares you have a shot. lol
Need4Speed 02-18-2005, 05:52 PM Go 17 !!!!!!!!

twisty 02-18-2005, 05:54 PM I hate nascar...
Pigface1 02-18-2005, 06:35 PM You either love it or hate it. I don't watch the whole season, but I definitely watch the super speedways, Daytona and Talladega. I had a whole new respect once I drove one at Texas Motor Speedway. It's f'n nuts.
Need4Speed 02-18-2005, 06:43 PM i dont watch every race either..but yeah, all the daytona's, talledagas, etc..and the night races are cool too.
GSXR1000DJ 02-18-2005, 06:55 PM I hate nascar...
You know you like it. LOL
Gas Man 02-18-2005, 09:22 PM I wouldn't say I hate it....but I love making fun of the stupid, cracker, redneck fans...they're funny and dumb!
pickle.of.doom 02-18-2005, 09:35 PM It's also the start of bike racing season... Well, not much going on this weekend.. Supermoto Race on saturday, as well as the Bol'D'Or endurance race :dthumb: Next weekend WSB starts, although the race wont air on TV til the following tuesday at noon.

GsxrJack 02-19-2005, 12:23 PM i dont watch every race either..but yeah, all the daytona's, talledagas, etc..and the night races are cool too.
same here, but i did go to a winston cup race at NHIS a few years ago, and the freaken noise of those cars comming down the straights sure does get your attention...talk about rolling thunder :pat:
Pigface1 02-19-2005, 12:41 PM It's hard to get into it until you go to one. We sat in turn one at Texas Motor Speedway a couple years, it's unreal. Even w/a headset on (so my redneck azz can listen to the drivers and spotters), it's still ridiculously loud. 195 in, 180 out of the turns, bumper to bumper.
I went to Phoenix when I lived out there, it wasn't nearly as much fun..too small/slow, IMO.
Tomorrow I'll have it BLARING. My girlfriend will be hating life.

GsxrJack 02-21-2005, 10:29 AM yesterdays race was one of the best finishes ive seen at the daytona 500...good stuff and great rule to not finish under yellow......
ShanMan14 02-21-2005, 11:37 AM I don't know squat about NASCAR, but I watched the last 10 min. It was exciting, I guess. Drivers jockeying for position is always fun no matter what they're riding or driving.
Mudpuppy 02-21-2005, 12:57 PM Gordon sucks and Jimmie swallows.. Hopefully that is the first and LAST fuggin win for that gay little fugger.. Him and his gay friend # 48.. Jr. should have won..

Pigface1 02-21-2005, 02:24 PM I'm just glad Tony Stewart didn't win. I'm one of the few 3 and 8 fans that actually likes 24, though. Gordon can drive his azz off, and he's not a baby like Stewart, Harvick, etc.

OUCH....I didn't know any of you actually existed in this world. Wow, learn something new everyday!!!

Thanks Ace for adding that because I've been sitting here all day waiting to know if you like NASCAR or not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can make a fan out of anyone...even Twisty.....guaranteed. :here:
super954 02-21-2005, 05:18 PM Ya i got into the nascar thing a few years back . It's also known as the left turn league .They do a few road races but thats it .That being said I do bet with guys at work. We all pick a driver & at the end of the year most points wins .It's cool rooting 4 or against some of those guys.
Pigface1 02-21-2005, 05:24 PM If you don't know the drivers and you don't know how that sort of racing works, I can see how it would be boring. I'd rather watch squirrels hump than watch Formula 1. No passing except in the pits = boring.
But, I got a whole new respect for NASCAR after I drove 18 laps at TMS in a Winston Cup car a few years ago. Those guys are f'n nuts. . you can't see anywhere but straight ahead of you and your rear-view. You can barely see that much b/c of the cage and the plastic windshield. When they strap you in and you fire up the engine, it's a whole new world. Add in the fact that they're doing 190+, three and sometimes four wide, bumper to bumper, for 500 miles. That's the ****.
But, I like all kinds of racing, from Moto GP to Rally to NASCAR to NHRA.
Mudpuppy 02-21-2005, 09:00 PM I'm just glad Tony Stewart didn't win. I'm one of the few 3 and 8 fans that actually likes 24, though. Gordon can drive his azz off, and he's not a baby like Stewart, Harvick, etc.
Sorry to hear that.. Gordon is the biggest baby - him and Jimmie.. Did you hear him yesterday? He told Nascar to "watch the # 8" because he is laying back - oh wait so are you numnuts.. Jr. was laying back because Gordon was laying back stupid moron.. I hate Gordon and Hendrick Motorsports more than most things in this world.. They have been caught cheating so many times it is pathetic - they are the Barry Bonds of Nascar.. I mean everyone "cheats" to a degree and it isn't cheating unless you get caught is what most people say - I mean look at the roots of the sport - moonshining - what do you expect? But teams try to get away with getting a little better aero package by being a little less or more than legal or something minor like that - which is considered cheating - but Gordon and Hendrick take it to a whole new level.. And Nascar is SO in LOVE with the homo team that they look past it.. Let's look at it further - Mark Martin wins a race and immediately they dock him 25 points that he desperately needs to win the championship because his car was an 1/8" too low - my azz.. Some anti-Roush Gordon lover was behind that one.. If it was Gordon they would have "overlooked" it and we never would have heard about it.. It is pathetic.. Too bad Jacky boy won 2 in a row losers.. Two things are certain in Nascar - Michigan IS Roush Country and I would swallow rusty aids infected razor blades before routing for any Hendrick car and Ganassi is a close second..
Super good to see you are on board and good to see you post!
AWESOME...that's all I can say Mud...AWESOME!!!!
Pigface1 02-22-2005, 12:22 PM I'm not sure what you're talking about, but Gordon was talking to his spotter.
There are no bigger babies in NASCAR than Harvick and Stewart, not even close.
There's not a team out there that doesn't cheat, and DEI cars are the most famous for it, eventhough typically they're my favorite. Hell, Jr got knocked out last year for saying, "It don't mean ****" on the air, and he's the crown prince of NASCAR. So, I don't see Gordon getting away with anything that nobody else does. He can drive his ass off, I don't have a problem with him.
All of those can drive, but like I said, Harvick and Stewart need to have binkies in their mouths when they take to the track.
Bikerdude 02-22-2005, 12:23 PM It was a great race.

I don't like Harvick or Stewart - you are right they are cry babies but not even close to the crying level of Gordon or Jimmie.. I just CANNOT stand Hendrick M/S and especially not Gordon.. Yeah I thought about the **** comment by Jr. and Nascar immediately docked him - Gordon would NOT have been docked points.. They are in love with Hendrick and Gordon so they let him get away with **** - maybe because he won 4 championships, most among active drivers, maybe because he slobs Mike Helton's knob.. Who knows.. You are wrong wrong wrong though - Jr. IS the MOST popular driver to the fans but Nascar does not see him as the crown prince - Gordon owns that spot (due to knob slobbing of the Nascar board I am sure).. Nascar is not in love with Jr. and especially not with Roush - they are probably livid that they tried to change the rules to be anti-Roush and another Roush driver won it last year - HA HA.. All I can say is down with Gordon and BACK TO BACK ROUSH / FORD CHAMPIONSHIPS BABY! GOING FOR THE THREE-PEAT - give it to Mark Martin for his last year and call it good.. It was nice to give the nation a little taste of what we here in Michigan call Roush Country.. Come up to MIS some time and wander over to turn 4 on the infield and I will make sure you get a real good taste that you won't be able to wash out of your mouth for a month of Roush Country.. That's the way I grew up, that's the way I'm gonna be..

Pigface1 02-22-2005, 01:14 PM I'm a Chevy guy, so I gotta stick w/ my Chevy drivers.
Gordon wouldn't have been docked for saying that b/c he wouldn't have ever said it, he's way too smoooooothe on the mic.

Yeah he is pretty smooth - I will give him that and that he is a great driver. I just cannot stand him and his gay like nature. It sucks that Kyle Busch now drives the old # 5. DANGIT. Maybe Jack can swipe Kyle once Martin retires and he can drive the # 6. The other thing that pisses me off is all the Gordon fans that weren't until he won # 3 or # 4 - even the ones that "all of a sudden" are a fan after he won # 1 or # 2. They are probably all Busch fans now and were Kenseth fans the year before, etc. That irritates me. Then they are going to argue with me about **** they have no idea about? I hate that - a person that knows everything about nothing and they always say (in a gay tone) well "he won 4 championships". I always reply how many ***** did he have to suck to make that happen? Always pisses them off. My good friend is a Gordon fan BUT he is because he was an Allison fan and for all rights Gordon took over his spot after he died - so I let him slid on that one. I just hope it is a good season. I would like to see Martin win a championship his last year and if not him then Dale Jr.
Pigface1 02-23-2005, 01:06 PM That guy pulls more wool than anyone else on that track. Put the Haterade down.
I'm pulling for Martin all the way this year. It's his last season and if anyone deserves one....it's him.
Mudpuppy 02-23-2005, 04:12 PM I'm pulling for Martin all the way this year. It's his last season and if anyone deserves one....it's him.
True dat. They interviewed him on Sunday and asked him if you don't win this last Daytona 500 you are competing in would you have a void in your career? In true Mark Martin fashion he answered and unlike MP who would have beotch slapped the stupid out of them for asking a stupid f'ing question he said no. He said winning any race is significant - it doesn't matter if it is Daytona, Bristol, Talledega, etc. He went on and answered the question perfectly. So basically if he never won a championship would it really matter to him? No. He is glad to have had the opportunity to race, etc. But if ANYONE deserves it, it is definately him - he the one who brought Roush to where they are today, the one who makes random visits to children's hospitals on his own time for no money or endorsements, the one who ALWAYS races clean and wins fair, the one with more class on and off the track then all of the other racer's combined, he who found Matt Kenseth and made Jack Roush's first championship possible, etc. etc. etc. It goes on forever - bottom line Mark is a bad mfr.. He has my utmost respect.. When he retires I will then rout for the # 17 as Mark owns half of it.. But after this year it will never be the same.. He has been my favorite from Day 1 when he raced the Valvoline Thunderbird back in 1988.
