Do you ever ride in the daytime with your brights?

As an extra safety measure? I'm not sure how effective it is, but I see a lot of bikers around that (appear) to do this.

Yes, I try to have the brights on during the day. Of course, I turn them off at night if I'm in a traffic area.

That's something they didn't teach in MSF and I never even thought about it. . I'll do that from now on, though. :cool:

I've done it since day 1. Granted, day 1 was about three weeks ago..... I'll switch to dim when I'm doing an early evening ride when I enter some heavily shaded areas along the back roads. I had a bike come at me two nights ago with his highs on around 7:30 pm in the shade (heavy shade here, trees almost made a natural tunnel) and I was blinded from his lamp.

On most always during the day!

Since January, when one of my low beams burnt out. I don't ride at night in the winter since snowmelt on the road freezes up instantly when the sun goes down.

Yep... brights on all the time during the day. Gotta do everything you can to make these stupid people see you (and they still don't! :cursin: ). Once the sun goes down though I use the low beam... don't want to blind anybody, and the F4i has got some BRIGHT ASS high beams! LOL

As said before.... brights during the day and normal lows during the night. Brights at night is just dangerous.... What is the first thing that most animals and people do when they see bright lights going for them... they stare... what's that cause??? Sight fixation.... then they run right for you.... not too mention somebody trying to look away and hit something or you!

Yeah Ace did you hear that - TURN THEM DOWN @ NIGHT - for christ sake it is not enough that you have a testerone enriched loud ass v-twin you have to turn on your 1,000,000 candlewatt beams as well? Now I can't hear or see? I always ride with my highs on during the day.. Lows @ night..

Oh yeah Ace is one of those guys.... I always love having his high beams blind me at night when heading north from RO.... :nonod:

well right now i leave them on all the time. i only have my permit and with cops not knowing that some motorcycles only use one light. i do not need to be pulled over for that and then have the cop realize i either should not be out at night or i should have a person riding with me that has a liscence.

Come up over a crest or something and get the guy in the opposite late flashing HIS highbeams at you and ya can't see a damn thing :(. :bluemc: -G

that makes me just wanna get a spot light out and flash his arse in the face when they flash you and ur on a bike at night on this subject i recently drove at night with my tinted hjc shield and i could almost see like normal.

They can still pull you over for failure to dim your highbeams. So either way you can get nailed for riding at night.

It appears that the "I's" have it and it could be a good practice... so I will start trying to turn my brights on during the day... THX :twfrox:

The qusetion is y not. there are too many stupid people that just to take the time to look are or pay atention so i do what ever i can to let them know that im there, even if it is blinding them at night. If your not on a bike you shouldnt be on the road.

It's also illegal and gives the cop one more reason to pull you over... If you don't know what the difference would be during the day do this... When behind a vechicle during the day, a vechicle that is straight up and down in the back... like a truck or van... look at the reflection of your low beams then switch on the high beams and back down to low beams... look at the difference! You'll be sold instantly on the idea!

I have to admit that there is one part of town where I DO use my brights at night. The area with all the Wal-Marts and Meijers and 50 fast food places... its freakin dangerous up there and everything is lit up, Ive been pulled out on so many times goin through that stretch that now I just say F it, and slam on my brights in that part of town, unless someone is oncoming or I am right behind them...
