Need4Speed 08-05-2004, 12:44 PM Any of you people ever do any skydiving at all? My wife went a few years ago, from a local outfit in Chambersburg, PA. She said it was breathtaking and something she would love to do again. It's not real expensive, I think the whole weekend was like 350.00 a piece, including the instruction, a couple meals and the jump.
Jumping out of a perfectly good airplane doesnt seem too logical to me  ..but she says its a blast, so Im thinking of giving it a go.
Anybody have any stories/experience doing it?
ShanMan14 08-05-2004, 01:42 PM I could do it, but my wife wouldn't let me!
Pigface1 08-05-2004, 02:04 PM I might do it. . Closest I've come is bungee a few times. The last time was around midnight from 200' right after a Grateful Dead show. Had to change my shorts after that.

I've did it before near Jacksonville, Florida. It rocked. Nothing like jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 13,500 feet. Doing about 120mph soarin' thru the clouds and all. I even got video of the whole jump. They had a guy jump out before you. Handin out high fives as your screamin thru the air and all....I would do it again in a heart beat!!!
Need4Speed 08-06-2004, 10:56 AM Yeah, I saw the video she had done too...she had 2 instructors jump with her and stayed beside her till she pulled her chute. It looked pretty intense, especially since her's was a sunset jump! She said though when she landed she couldnt pop her ears for several minutes, and that was alittle rough til they popped.
I was like, what if your chute didnt open, what if you backup chute didnt open, what if the plane crashed, what if you passed out, what if....then she was like, well what if your riding your bike a deer runs out in front of you, what if somebody turns left in front of you at the last minute at an intersection, what if ?? Needless to say looks like I gotta take that jump next time they go.. ;)
Gas Man 08-06-2004, 11:05 AM I never seen her video, but I have a vid of myself. But don't joke around about that deer jump out in front of you, it brings up bad flash backs....
Need4Speed 08-06-2004, 11:11 AM oh yeah, no doubt !! but when she started bringing up all those what if's? I was like, damn, she's got me!! Where's my chute :ack: ;)

Nudge...who said it will be a nudge, I planed on kicking your a$$ out the door and watching you fall for a bit. :D
CBR Rider 08-10-2004, 03:35 PM I used to jump every weekend. It is the best! I got a bike because I moved away from my home DZ and it gets expensive when you don't keep your license up - I needed some sort of adrenaline rush and sold my parachute to buy a bike. However, the bike is a far cry from jumping!
Many times I think I would trade the bike to get my rig back.
You have to do it. You will smile for a week when you are done!
Here is a link to drop zones:

Depending where you are in PA, across the line in NJ (near Philly) is a place called Cross Keys. Good planes, good people (at least when I went there), you could camp at the DZ, just a fun place to spend a weekend falling from the sky.
Have Fun!
