Non-motorcycle: Northern IN resorts

Does anyone have any experience with resorts in the north of the state, perhaps near South Bend or even in Michigan just around Lake Michigan from Chicago? I've got an event I need to plan and this is a convenient geographic location. TIA, kanwisch

Try New Buffalo, or South Haven, or any of those little towns down there by the bottom of lake Michigan.

Gas and other MI'ers, I'm drawing a blank. I know some of those towns on the bottom SW corner of the state there are real nice, and I know some are kinda nasty. I didn't point him towards any of the nasty ones did I? Like I know Benton Harbor is kinda nasty, so I didn't mention that...

Well, my problem is almost the same.... I don't know 100% so I'm afraid to suggest! The only one I know for sure is K-zoo....

Here's an example (http://www.oakcove.com/) of a place I found that seemed kind of interesting. Kalamazoo seems like a logical place to check out, hadn't thought of that one and the Googles I did failed to suggest it. And I'll remember Benton Harbor's a place to avoid. Heck, anyone who can suggest those would be just as appreciated :dthumb: I figured with the large number of MI and IN riders on here I'd have a good shot at getting some educated feedback. Other possibilities we run across I'll shoot up here in case they ring bells for anyone. :twfrox:

Well I'm pretty partial to Kalamazoo myself! I've been to New Buffalo but only to shop. The have an outlet mall there and they also have the Blue Chip Casino. I would think that since they have that casino there would be some nicer places to stay but I can't confirm that as I've never looked into it. If you consider Kalamazoo, you pretty much get Portage as well. That is where a good number of the retail stores are.

Kan...I'm glad K-zoo might work for ya.... but the problem is, with the exception of Becca.... the rest of us aren't from the west side of the state.... Becca could help ya more....
