i was just wondering if anyone knows whats the difference from the 00-01 motors to the 02-03. since i have a 01 bike and am looking for a used motor i wanna try and find out what will work. from what i have been told so far is that all four years will bolt in the same but the electronics may or may not be the same. anyone know about this? or where i may find out?

well i looked up parts for the electrical and fuel injection for the 00-03 on a web site. well all the part numbers are the same. so would it be right to assume that a 03 motor would run in a 00 frame and electrical?

It doesn't matter what for. If all the part #'s match then it should work. :2cents:

Well I got the GSXR part right.... Twisty owns 2 750's.... one in a 600cc frame and a 2001 750.... he could tell you more...but won't be able to till probably Monday. Him, MP, Pippi, Dyno, and a bunch more WOS are all at the track this weekend!!! GO WOS!!

the reason why i ask is because i wanna do an engine swap and i want to know which are able to be swapped with a 01 gsxr 750. also i wanna put a PCIIIusb on it as well. the tech reps for powercommander said it is not possible since they are different. from 01 to 02. i just dont see the difference. maybe they are wrong.

I have swapped parts between both and never had a problem. But the dyno jet guys might know somthing I dont. The best things to would get the manual for both and compare them wire by wire, which might take a while.

I would say it has to do with fuel and spark between the two sizes of CC's.
Are the ECM's the same part # on both?
