Picked up a 2003 white firebolt in NY. It has a full fairing, Buell race kit muff, ecm, air filter. I've have ridden other bikes in the past from standard like V-Max, Radian and Honda CBR. The bolt is so different, lots of bottom end torq.

Looks Good. I Would Go Crazy Thinkin About Which Graphics Would Look Good On It. Is That Gonna Be A Track Or Street Or Both?

ConeKLR

It's mainly a street bike but I do plan to take it some on road courses. Yeah, it needs a paint job and yes i have about 5 different paint jobs and schemes/graphics i have been thinking about. :bonk:

Man o man, those things have short wheel bases... not bad lookin for a Buell... :D I think that's what makes the Buell and the Monster's handle so well. I also think its the biggest downfall in the new Buell's :2cents:

Do a google for sharkskinz. They are the ones that make them for the Buell Firebolts. They will send you to Hals HD and you need to email HALs. I can never get on their online catalog site. They make them for street or race.

Here is some info for yuz guyz that are looking for firebolt fairings. The company that makes my full fiberglass fairing is located at www.sebimoto.com They have a reseller/dealer located in NJ. http://www.sebimoto.com/kontakte.asp Here's the sharkskin site, not sure if they have firebolt parts http://www.sharkskinz.com/ :twfrox:

thanks i checked out sharkskinz and sebimoto. Sebimoto's dealer is less than half the price i am trying to get them on the phone though cause their site doesnt say anything about the street legal ones that have the holes for the headlights.

Its not hard to cut the hole. Make a template from the OEM stuff. :dthumb:

its like you read my mind i just got off the phone and was going to ask someone on here how hard would that be.

its like you read my mind i just got off the phone and was going to ask someone on here how hard would that be. I've used a Dremel and poster paper. Always cut the holes small and trim out after test fit. The last set I did I cut 3 or 4 times before I had a proper fit. Luckily GSXR stuff isn't that much more to get the pre cut stuff. :luck:

Yeah like Jeeps said just do it yourself.... What did they say on the phone though?

lucky
04-14-2005, 11:02 AM
just that they only sell them without holes and that i would have to do it myself. he also said that if i had a completely stock bike (which it is) i might have to make some more modifications but they shouldnt be a problem.

i am thinking i should probably have some one else do it. i am worried about srewing up the actual mounting of it.

ConeKLR
04-14-2005, 12:22 PM
Lucky, I can post some pics of how it is mounted and any additional brackets that were added. It's really not that bad, so it seems. I have taken the fairing on and off since I got the bike. It's really easy to do. So I can't see why installing it would be that hard.

okay here are some pics of the brackets and attachment points.

ConeKLR
04-17-2005, 11:54 AM
pics There are a total of 8 attachment points on the upper fairing. Working your way around starting from the kick stand side: 1) One bracket attached to the side just below the seat using the factory torq bolt and connecting to the fairing with small hex bolt and nut. 2) One screw and nut just below the mirror 3) The mirrors two mirror bolts going thru the fairing 4) windscreen screw 5) windscreen screw 6) The mirrors two mirror bolts going thru the fairing 7) One screw and nut just below the mirror 8) One bracket attached to the side just below the tank using the factory torq bolt and connecting to the fairing with small hex bolt and nut. 9) One bracket attached to the side just below the seat using the factory torq bolt and connecting to the fairing with small hex bolt and nut. Then of course you have the small fairing that covers the muffler. It has four DIZ screws on each side.
