detroit area radio station

This is for anyone in the detroit area. What happened to 93.1 drq. Its gone. That was the best radio station out there. How could they get rid of it

93.1 DRQ.... gone??? I don't listen to them that much (barely out of range)...but didn't think they're were gone... Sure enough... DRQ Website (http://www.drqradio.com) But when you click on it... poof... Doug FM??? :wtf: is that!!

Sure enough...went out to the truck and it is some lame a s s easy listening smooth family junk! The broadcast display on the radio even says Doug FM... :nonod:

931 (DRQ) apparently decided to change its format. Sometime last week they called a "meeting" where they basically fired all the DJ's and interns. Now they called "Doug-Radio" which has something to do with Viacomm owning the Disney TV show "Doug". From my understanding right now they play "everything" which will eventually change as they opt which music format will gain a greater audience market. But the ratings for the old 93.1 were falling fast because Channel 955 was on top for that market. I guess right now 93.1 is basically being run off an ipod on shuffle. Believe me for that type of music, 95.5 is MUCH better. Their morning show is decent too.

Yea, I was shocked when I turned the truck on Monday morning and CRAP was coming off of 93.1, now DOUG radio. I liked 93.1, especially "Lisa Lisa the Doggie Diva" who helped so many dogs get adopted with her on air plugs for rural shelters. :( I heard they are keeping the "ipod shuffle format" - I guess competition from satellite radio is really hitting the FM markets, and once the lawsuit went through Disney came in and cleaned house - fired everyone and put this CRAP on. :cursin:

Yeah, but it's always nice to have 2 POP stations... that way when one is playing garbage MAYBE the other one has something desent on.... Oh well....

It's like what happened to 98.7... USED to be rock, then one day... :cry:
