Low altitude fly by!

Today coming home from Ohio I got a low altitude flyby form a 05 GSXR 1k & a UFB (unidentified flying bike). I was cruising in the slow lane at about 75mph. The UFB (bright orange) came by so fast (150+) I didn't even know what it was at first. After I gathered myself from the slight fright of the loud pipe buzzing by. I noticed another bike ahead cruising around the speed limit. The orange bike blew past it and then slowed. They both got off the interstate at the next exit. By this time I was just wishing I was with them on my bike instead of in the Peterbilt.. :sob: I cruse on by and think the UFB was a ZX10 (not sure at this point). Just a mile or two down the road I see them approaching in my mirror. They ride up beside me and I matched there speed. I gave a  and motioned for a wheelie. As most liter bike riders are, they seemed happy to oblige. The ZX slowed, then the Gixxer. I slowed to allow them more room and they where off. The ZX did a marginal but decent wheelie while the guy on the Gixxer pulled one of the sickest wheelies I have ever seen. :dthumb: I mashed on it just trying to keep up (not easy in a car, my less a big truck). He leveled off speed at around 85 and rode for well over 2 miles on the back wheel, only to set it down for traffic. I wanted to be on my bike so bad at this point. Afterwards they pull into a rest area and I follow, of course. I don't know why but, I was shocked when they removed there helmets. It turns out that they are husband and wife in their 30's. Pretty nice people. I didn't even notice it was a female on the ZX. :screwy: Ok; I know this was a long story but, I had to share. It just made my day! :twfrox:

No way man... the gym is a way of life... I go 5 days a week and may start going more... I wish I had the time and dedication to go more. Thats one of the biggest draw back of my profession. I refuse to let myself become a stereotype and do whatever it takes to stay lean.

I'm 21 with my literbike. I've only had the Z1000 about 9 monthes though no, i steped up from a 91 Ex500...huge difference in riding....the 500 is just a commuter now and the Z a California trip and fun ride now. But i'll only buy a faster bike from here on out unless my body makes me sway for more comfort. Next one will be a Zx10R or GSXR1000 until something faster comes out, like a 380lb Zx12R with great suspension and does 0-187 in 10 flat with 220RWHP...lol Maybe by 2008 when im 25 and cna afford the insurance on such an insane bike.

I don't think we will see a factory bike do over 160mph with out after market goodies! Its not that they aren't capable now. The Damn government keeps them regulated. Like the 115mph LT1 Camaro. I'm sure it has something to do with insurance to. :cursin:

Bikes in factory trim will do over 160... well indicated. My Z1000 dead stock did it. and a new GSXR 1K or ZX10R i will guarenttee will top 160 factory, along with the busa and Zx12R... im sure the GSXR 750 will do over 160 if my nakid bike with similar power and just a bit more torque will do it with bad aerodynamics... so maybe the twins won't but i htink any 04+ 750 CC or high SS bike will do it and the 1000cc Nakid 4's will also. Dead Stock And the regualtors are 187mph.

Toyota 4x4 Pickup hits a governor at 107mph....more if u went taller then stock tires and dont regear... i htink with new 10 series wider tires at same profile my toyota did a best top of bout 112 or so.. scarey in a very narrow high rollover truck... everybump in the road makes u feel like u might fly. Now my truck doesnt run right and will barley touch 100 and only on a slight downhill.

My whole point was, no matter what or how the government regulates our bikes/cars. The aftermarket will find a way for us to get around it. Yes, the GSXR 1k will do over 160 in stock trim. It will do more with plug in aftermarket goodies.
