bumblebee 04-07-2005, 11:56 AM Hey y'all, I stole this from another forum that probably stole it from here...note to self...must get stronger meds...Oh, Well, I thought it was funny...
This test only has one question, but it's a very important one. Please don't answer it without giving it some serious thought.
By giving an honest answer you will be able to test where you stand morally.
The test features an unlikely, completely fictional situation, where you will have to make a decision one way or the other. Remember that your answer needs to be honest, yet spontaneous.
Please scroll down slowly and consider each line - this is important for the test to work accurately.
You're in Florida...In Miami, to be exact...
There is great chaos going on around you, caused by a hurricane and severe floods.
There are huge masses of water all about you.
You are a news photographer and you are in the middle of this great disaster. The situation is nearly hopeless.
You're trying to shoot impressive photos, photos that capture the emotion and tragedy of the events. Houses and people are floating around you, disappearing into the water!
Nature is showing all her destroying power, ripping everything asunder.
Suddenly you see a woman in the water. She is fighting for her life, trying not to be taken away by the masses of water and mud. You move closer.
Somehow the woman looks familiar.
You know who it is -- it's Hilliary Clinton!
At the moment you recognize who she is, you also notice that the raging waters are about to take her away, forever. You realize you have two options. You can save her or you can take the best photo of your life.
You can save the life of Hillary Clinton, or you can shoot a Pulitzer Prize winning photo, a unique photo displaying the actual "passing" of one of the world's most powerful women.
And here's the question (please give an honest answer):
Would you select color film, or go with the simplicity of classic black and white?

A real photographer would have both and try to use them.
ShanMan14 04-07-2005, 12:02 PM I've seen various iterations of this joke throughout the years, this version is a little more up to date.
Gas Man 04-07-2005, 01:19 PM um, too many words n stuff...
bumblebee 04-07-2005, 03:02 PM um, too many words n stuff...
Now Gasman...remember, if you break the larger words up into smaller pieces, they are easier to sound out...
thought it was going to meaningful.
Gas Man 04-07-2005, 05:01 PM Yeah Yeah Bee... and thanks JDogg... :D
Captain Morgan 04-07-2005, 05:10 PM Okay Jdogg, if you want a meaningful ethics test, here's a question for you:
You ordered a set of frame sliders from eBay and received them within a few days. You left positive feedback for the seller, and the seller in turn left positive feedback for you. Two weeks later you get an e-mail from that seller stating that your order has "shipped today" and they provide a tracking number. You're confused, so you pull up the tracking number on UPS and sure enough, that seller has sent you a package that you didn't order. You had paid for the first order through PayPal so the seller doesn't have any way of charging you for the second package they sent in error.
Do you contact the seller and return the unordered item or keep it as a freebie because it was their mistake? BTW, it's another set of frame sliders. So what would you do?
Gas Man 04-07-2005, 05:16 PM I, being a honest guy and a avid ebayer, would contact him and tell him. Depending on the price of the parts, and if he's a big ebay store, he may just tell you to keep them. I've had similar but different things happen to me... sent the wrong part, I told the seller, he sends the correct part and tells me to just keep the wrong part... figuring it would cost too much for all the return postage and crap!
If you choose to keep em... hey way cool for you!
Captain Morgan 04-07-2005, 09:59 PM Nah, I contacted them as soon as I figured out the situation. The second set of sliders came in on Friday, but I couldn't get them back out to UPS until the following Monday. The seller contacted UPS after I told them so they had a return label printed when I got to UPS.

Morality is not high on BullDogs list... apperantly :skep:
Attempting to return it is, The right thing to do...
I once was givin more change then I gave for some burgers at Carl Jr's in Tulsa. and I was all for keeping it... but My S.O. said to return it... now I gave the girl 20.00 she gave me back 55.00 I tried to tell here that she gave me too much change but she counted her money and said she was not short... So I managed to drive off with food and more money then I started with... Was I wrong... I don't think so because I attempted to return the money :pat:
Mudpuppy 04-08-2005, 12:04 PM Neither - I would skip the photo and make sure she drown - might hold her head down or something..
Gas Man 04-08-2005, 01:15 PM Capt, I wouldn't have took it to UPS but had them pick it up... they could have done that!
And Low you're right... A real MAN owns up to what he does, whether it's good or bad... Bull needs some education in many aspects!!
In my life I try to live on a creative plain not a competitive one. I (not very religous) do unto to others as I would have them do unto me.
