I've ridden with a buddy on his R6 and me on my F4i plenty of times. . it wasn't that much faster than the F4i. I'll buy the 9 second time, but he must have had a ridiculous 60' b/c he's not trapping over 130mph.

I didn't think so. . I'd like to see the article. Furyus? Sorry I was gone for the weekend, but OK, I'm at work now...got the mag at home. I believe it was in Cycle World (or Motorcyclist) the only two I get. It was a six bike 600cc shootout...I still don't believe it myself, but it was in print so it must be true. :skep:

someone got some money out of this one, if a stock 600cc bike can do a 1/4 in less then 10 sec, whats the point of getting a liter bike. what kind of set up where htey using? a 1/4 mile messured by somoenes foot steps and a with a stop watch waiting for the bike to move to start it and then stoping it as the bike crosses the spray painted line. lmao. 2Furyus i believe that there is an artical i just dont beleive that its true. lol

I saw that in the cycle world, he did change the sprockets and lowered the front end... all together about 200$ in mods... but they did say he ran I believe it was a 9.89 or 9.98 on a ZX6R... so maybe it's true...at least it's in print

Sub 10 sec off a 1/4 mile cliff mabye- May be it can be done by a Bad A$$ rider... Twisty appears to be that type of rider... to be able to show up many people... on, no matter what bike he's on... so I believe it's possible... with the right rider...

Ok double checked...May issue of cycle world...Ricky Gadson ran a 9.98 1/4 mi. 134.90 mph and then backed it up with a 9.93 sec 135.05 mph 1/4. Pig doesn't give 60' info.

Those trap speeds are impressive, but more impressive is his launch. Whatever his 60' was, he launched it like a mofo though, considering he's getting 1/4 times with 10mph less than what those times would suggest. Get him on a litre bike and he'd be turning low 9s.

Ricky Gadson was an illegal street racer back in Philly...people use to pay him to drag race their bikes in big money street drag races for pink slips and thousands of dollars...kawasaki gave him a chance to ride pro after they saw him running stock bikes and getting some insane times on them.... He's probably the best dragracer with stock bikes in the world...back in the 80's it was peewee gleason that could get insane times out of stock bikes , Yamaha used peewee's times on their V-Max advertising and that was like cheating since no one in the world could match that time.... these guys just have a gift and a great feel for launching any bikes they ride on.....i think the motorcycle mag riders got 10.5 out ot the yamaha R6 and he 10.3 at 131 on the truley stock bike....then he makes a few adjustments (sprocket tooth and tiedown) and hes into the 9's.... pretty sick times since my 1989 gsxr1100 stock motor with a pipe and jet kit and a 1.63 sixtey foot time (which isnt too shabby) ran a best of 10.3 @134

the sv650s runs a 11.25 bone stock Bull take it there and lets see what u run... often their times they post are either Theoretical or with a pro rider.. your everyday person... good or not will not run within a .25 seocnd of that.. u may run a 12 flat on a SV... Their pro riders are liek 5'2" and 120lbs also....

Saw the article today, that kawi was ON THE GROUND! Very impressive, im sure Rickeys talent drops about a couple tenths off the 1/4 mi time.

What did the 636 run it in? Cuz it should be the fastest bike of any in a stright line... weight is so close to any of the others and power is definalty the highest by a bit.

That shows how much fast the driver can make a bike or even a car. He's got my respect. I would like to know what short times he was pulling though.

Wonder if they would have done the same mod's to all the bikes if any would have been in the 9's with the r6

weight was the lowest in 04 n i think its tied for the lightest biek in 05. The Kawi is tied with Suzuki at 401 and the Yamaha weights 397 (dry weight).
