I had an 02 R6 before stepping up to the litre class and it redlined at 15.5. Still didnt have any real power though. Thats why they need to rev that high. Weak.

I just don't know why they quit making the Liquid Silver color? That was by far the best color for that bike.. Now if I bought a new one I would have to go Team Yamaha Blue...

Outlawed??? For what reason? It had to do with visibility. You know, we have people who talk on cell phones and watch DVDs in the car, but was because the bike was silver that they hit it :cursin: . I tried looking for the article, but I couldn't find it. I think it was in Illinois, Iowa, Indiana...one of the "I" states. Jim

This silver color thing got me poking around b/c I loved the R6 in it too. Haven't (yet) found any articles discussing it but did come across this study (http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/content/abridged/328/7444/857) that discusses color and impact on accidents. Its a New Zealand study but the concepts seem similar. Can't tell if they normalized the data or not by my quick peek so accept the data with that usual grain of salt. EDIT: My bad. Well I know that color does affect crashes with cars... Ohio State Patrol use to have tons of these dark gray patrol cars..but they found they were getting hit too often...now they are going to bright white!

That really puts me off the Matte Silver ZX6 ive had my eye on....
