Oh my! A friend of mine also hit a deer one time on his bike and I believe he came out with a broken collar bone and that's it. I hope you get better soon! Thank goodness you are smart and wear gear! Best wishes!

I did dump my bike last year instead of hitting the deer... it wasn't exactly what I would have loved to do but it sure beats every other story I hear about the rider hitting the deer! Sorry to hear yours didn't turn out all that well...

What'd you do GasMan, just go into a low side??? I love country roads, but it's **** like this that makes me enjoy our relatively empty interstates that much more.

Well it was kinda a mild high side... the bike threw me to the left as it went down on it's left side and kept going... I went tumbling towards on-coming traffic lanes and then it was all done... scratched up bike, no scratched up rider due to full leather riding gear!!!

Pigface1

no scratched up rider due to full leather riding gear!!! Yeah, but you probably had to get the pants dry cleaned afterwards.

What's regent?? One who rules during the minority, absence, or disability of a monarch. One acting as a ruler or governor. A member of a board that governs an institution, such as a state university. You asked! You know what I meant! :leaving:

Well i went to the Drs today and found out that i have ANOTHER broken bone in my shoulder, a broken rib which in turn slighty punctured my lung. None of which they can do anything about. Fun times. I also went and looked at the accident scene and the bike today, the bikes destroyed. ALL the plastics are in a million pieces on the side of the accident scene. The bars are cracked off and ground through, headlight shattered, taillight shattered, most of the levers are gone, motor has 2in hole in side of it from sliding on the pavement, the frame is ground through in a few places, seat is torn to ****, windscreens gone, clutch lever and front brake lever are cracked off, tank has severe rash, the grab bar is bent up at 90degrees etc. only thing salvageable is the pipe which i already sold, the rims n tires, and maybe the forks. otherwise, its done for. Im just gonna pay to get it out, sell the pipe, rims, and forks and then trash the rest of it probably.

I also found out why the fuker ran across where he did, someone has been putting carrots, lettuce and cabbage alll over the ditch because it is a "Nature Observation Area". The deer paths on both sides of the road lead directly to the food. MOTHERFUKERS!!!!!! Im goin into that office over there tomorrow, demanding to see the person in charge and throw a ****ing fit!!! Fukers could have killed me!!! They were feedin the deer to promote wildlife activity...SONOFABITCHES!!!!

Maybe you should take pics of you all f_cked up and go in there healthy and throw 'em a beatin. Maybe you could sue their ass. Tell them they could have put food on both sides of the road to limit them from crossing the road as much. I don't know, it might work. They should use fences or some sh_t.

L4L...take the biggest buddy of yours when you go in there... that way he can kick their butts for you!!! You obviously aren't in shape to do it yourself... That sucks about the extra injuries and the fact that you aren't going to get back on 2 wheels... maybe in time you'll change your mind...

Just because there is a hole in the motor cover doesn't mean its bad. Just the cover is bad. Don't trash it! Lots of parts. Can you say E Bay?

Best wishes! I'm the friend she's talking about. Hit a pregnant doe at about 70mph. Came of out nowhere. My friend behind me said he never ever saw my brakelights. I just disappeared(it was about 9pm) and then he saw sparks. Don't remember much other than feeling dizzy and the ambulance taking me tot he hospital and geting my little figure 8 brace and some meds. The bike was okay. I lived in Battle Creek, MI at teh time and M&M Motormall fixed it up for me. Good as new. Hell, I wired up the headlight and rode it for a week before I dropped it off there :D

Gas Man
04-18-2005, 07:45 AM
See but they can not like your descision and still support you... the deer thing is a act of god. You had no control over that..PERIOD! So that shouldn't be the reason that you don't ride anymore!

After some time has passed, You may decide to try it again. They may not understand but don't let that stop you. If you decide not to ride again they will love you for that but, will you be happy? That's a question for only you to answer. :luck:

If you decide not to ride again they will love you for that but, will you be happy? That's a question for only you to answer. :luck: UPDATE: FUK YEAH, i rode my buddies 05' R6 for like 10miles last night, aww man i loved it. Felt sooo good to get back on a bike. I even pulled it up a few times. The first time was unintentional but when it came up, i as like FUK IT and rode it out. So no, I wont be happy not riding. And well, recovery is slow. The pain is much less than it was before. I no longer have to wear a brace really or go to therapy. The Dr said it wasnt doing anything. SO i have to just, and i quote "Not use" my arm. I went to the Dr about a month or so agao and he said come back in two months. SO i got about a month left before i go back to see what he says. He said no surgery for right now, so who knows. The bone is still sitckin up and i still cant lift anything, which sucks ass. Im gettin frustrated but he at least gave me clearence to drive and said i didnt have to wear that crap ass brace. And as i said above, I WILL NOT be happy not riding again. Everytime i was out and about for awhile and saw someone riding wit no helmet or gear i was like WHATA FUKIN MORON!! But i still loved to see the bikes...Since the weather has been warming up ive been hearin and seein bikes left and right. If i was out wit my buddies and id hear some bike, probably 4 blocks away get on it and take off, id be all "Oh come onnnn". Same thing when i was just out and i saw a bike, id break my neck tryin to see what it was, what it had done to it, and who was riding it. I LOVE bikes. Its a damn obsession. Now that ive had it, i just want more and more. And heres another ilemma, since my bike is messed up, i did some lookin on EBAY and the parts to fix it are sooo cheap. I dont think id even care about ferrings. Just get it legal and ride it again and maybe just stunt it or somethin. Just to refresh your memory, its a 91 Katana 600. The bike isnt totalled, it is messed up, and for a couple of hundred $$$ i can get it rideable again. I dont have alot of $ since i been outta work, but i figure a ****ty bike is no bike. And at least the ferrings wouldnt be on it so i wouldnt hear peeps bitch about the Kanatuna!! LOL who knows...opinions? And heres a funny story, a day or two after i got out of the hospital my brand new Two Wheel Tuner came to my house and my dad was like "WHAT THE FUK IS THAT, WHY IS THAT HERE, DID YOU SUBSCRIBE TO THAT?!!!" Im like NOPE i won it on Two Wheel Forum, :twfrox: hes like AHh whatever. SO i took my crippled ass out to my deck, plopped down on a chair and read it for hours. This stuffs in my blood now. And as starnge as it may seem, it seems like it will never leave. You guys know how it is...

PIMP!!! I saw a guy wit a 05 R6 Raven last night awww mannn that thing was bad lookin, id love to have one, hmmm...thinking...thinking.... Mine is red, I was gonna get the Raven one but it would be a little hot in the desert sun so I decided not to get it. But hey, you get to join the broken-rib club, cause I have four with three fractured that happened on a quad and they still aren't healed. They can't do anything unless they cut you, put in like pins and then sew you back up. Theire "taping" don't do anything. Doctors told me since mine didn't even come close to healing correctly, that they can break them again and then pin them together. I was like... F-off!
