What do you think? Should I do it? I have a 2000 R6 with 10k miles and minor damage. He has a 1998 R1 with 28k miles and spotless (or so he says yet to see pics). Comments, opinions, derogatory statements, rude remarks - post it up you p/ws...

Is it a even swap? If so, GO FOR IT!!!!!! :dthumb: only if you want all that extra power. :2cents:

Even if it's a even swap... I'm thinking no! You don't know jack about this R1 and it's got alot of miles for a bike that you don't know anything about. For all you know he used it as a wheelie monster and that's it...the motor is ready to pop any moment now...

GAS is beitch, dont listen to him. Send the pics and then take it for a ride. Just cause a bike has 30K on it doesnt mean it is dead. But I think selling yours and then getting the one you want is a better choice. :dthumb:

Any word on the R1 today!

Any word on the R1 today! Yeah he wants to trade plus cash - like $600.. I don't know - too many miles for my taste and $600? :screwy: Yeah it could be in great shape and not beaten on but then again a sportbike with 28k? That is like a Mustang with 150k if you know what I mean.. I think I will just stick with the R6 and save up to buy the R1 I want with low miles, etc. Then I can have a bike for the track and the R1 for the street.. And the mfr didn't even send pictures.. WTF, over? Its a long drive to find out it is a piece.. Plus it is 2 years older than mine and I already think 2000 is too old for my tastes.. I don't know doesn't seem like a worthwhile trade to me.. More power is good but a ragged out 98 isn't and insurance will go up significantly I am sure.. I am going to think about it for a day or two and let him know..

MP! I think you are seeing the situation for what it really is... not the best idea... a good something to consider but when the options are weighted out, it's just NFG!

Are you getting What you want or settling for what's out there? It may not be as big a decision as buying a house... but you should NEVER settle for anything that is a big ticket item... you sould always get Exactly what you want...period!

Well, MP, from reading what you've posted, I'd say no deal unless you get some VERY RECENT pics. I don't know the guy either, but I knew you were looking for an R1 so I threw out the link for you. If you have your heart set on silver, then don't waste your time with this guy since he hasn't come forward with pics. Just wait and buy what you want.

Thanks for throwing that out there.. Always looking for a deal and the power of the liter bike sounds tempting but I just don't see getting the good end of this deal so why bother - bottom line if I spent $600 plus transportation plus a weekend away where I wasn't planning for the wedding she would cut my fuggin balls off anyways and I'd sell that damn R1 for a Kawasaki because I'd be a gay eunich with a limp pole.. So it is not worth it all around.. I will just save my nickels from all my hos up on McNichols (6 mile to you white boys) and get me a Liquid Silver bad ass beotch when I get the first opportunity to knock twice and play backdoor man like the post man does every morning after your pappy leaves.. :skep:
