Do you wave to ALL bikes or just sportbikes? I wave to everyone, in fact I get a good grin when I wave to a Harley and they don't wave back. :hi:

I wave to everyone, in fact I get a good grin when I wave to a Harley and they don't wave back. :hi: I also wave to all.... sometimes, not often, a harley rider will wave first.. usually if he's by himself, and not one of the hard-core bandana, half shell, chaps, and chain wallet types. Rarely have a sportbike rider not wave to me. Always makes ya feel good when a fellow rider gives ya a wave!!!! :hi:

I hear ya, but yes, I wave to all bikes. Most choppers, etc, wave back, it's the dentists etc on harleys that don't. lol :hi:

Sometimes a wave, but mostly just a nod of the helmet. I'm usually too busy riding to do the low five to everyone.

Riding last night to go get Matt to go riding and I passed a guy on a red ducati 999 and waved and he looked at me like I wasn't even in his class to wave back. What a dick. Its not my fault you are paying on your bike for the next 10 yrs and I paid cash for mine. :D Anyways, I don't get it with some riders. Your HD riders and some others on certain bikes. Some ducati's and a few on busa's just feel they are better and don't wave. They see you but feel they are better. If they crashed on that bike, they are going down the same way anyone else wuld on a bike. Damn retards. :D

I almost comitted the ultimate in rider waving taboo last night. I was crusing home, enjoy some nice side streets when I see the head lamp of another biker coming my way. I have a little formula for waving now: Another crotch rocket, I have the wave ready to go; a street cruiser and I'm in stand-by mood; a harley and I barely make eye contact, let alone prepare to even return a wave let alone start one. So anyway, from a distance I see what appears to be another rocket coming my way, so I'm getting ready to slid the low wave off to him. Just as my left hand was about to leave the grip, I noticed I almost waved to A SCOOTER!!!!!! What was I thinking? Thankfully I corrected myself and was able to save the embarassement I would have endured at such a mistake.

On a side note I wave to bike cops around here. At first they would just give a nod like, "WTF?" I guess nobody had done that before. lol Now, though, they all wave back just like anyone else. I've talked to a few of them and they're actually cool. If you knew me and some of the past I've had, that's basically like entering the Twilight Zone. lol

all the bike cops around here, ride Hogs..of course since the assembly plant is here in York...some of wave, and others do not. I got pulled over by one about 2 months ago, for doing 43 in a 25 (city), he was cool, andlet me off with running a red light (no points) , instead of the fine & points for speeding, so for that, I can say some are cool, and he waved to me when he left

OK So I have a question about the whole waving deal. Is there a real reason as to why "bikers" feel it is common courtesy to wave to other "bikers"? I mean I have never really given it any thought, but I don't exactly wave to other Dodge Neons' as they go by. :seeya: However after reading this thread, I decided, What the Hell, give it a try. So lately I have been waving to my fellower "Dodgers" and they just give me this look like :skep: :screwy: She ain't right! So has anyone else given it a try? (Good thing I don't drive a Pinto, there wouldn't be too many peeps to wave to!)

Hell, what other experience gives u a thrill just riding down to fill up the tank w/ gas ? If all riders would just get off their "hog high horse" , and come back to reality like the rest of us, we wouldnt get so many one-sided waves. And no, not all sportbikers are perfect, but I get alot more waves from them for sure. :)

I wave at all of 'em...from the 50cc sccoter the the biggest lane hogging boat anchor. I figure if they are out on two wheels they deserve a modicum of respect. I can't account for their taste or brain function with the choices some make, but if they don't wave back...they can BITE ME !!!!!!

Since a new post was made I figure I'd make one too. I have a different view of who waves back, but perhaps that's because of my current bike (more of a cruiser). Harley's and other cruisers will wave, but many sportbikes don't. I am often the first to wave so that doesn't play into the situation. Maybe the sports around here are different, but they seem to be the stuck up ones. As for waving while in cars... Corvette drivers do and a while back I started waving to fellow Camaro drivers. Most of 'em look at me like I'm nuts, but I do get the occasional wave back. I've even been known to get acknowledgement from some firebird/formula/transams... that typically comes with eye contact and a nod, but I consider it a start. I will continue to wave to other camaros and all other bikes on the road. Ever gotten ready to wave to a biker when you weren't on your bike? I sure as heck have, but I caught myself!
