01 zx6r turn signals...

Hello, Does anyone know where to find DOT approved turn signals for an 01 Ninja zx6r (600J)? Im looking for both the front and the rear. The bike needs to go through level 3 inspection in AZ and we require DOT approved turn signals in this state to pass. I have been on e bay, and checked other online stores, but no luck. If anybody knows, please let me know. I dont care if they are OEM or flush mounts, just DOT approved and ill be happy. Thanks

:welcome: :twfrox: I think stock is the only dot approved ones. Any blinker other than flush mount with yellow lenses should pass inspection.

I Beleive all the Kawasaki blinkers since early 90s at least will fit all the sportbike models.. my 91EX500 blinkers are the same as my factory Z1000 ones....If you cant find any stockers somewhere lemme know and i could send ya the rear set off my 03 Z1000.. u just pay shipping so it dont cost me.. but u should be able to find some REALLY cheap at a SALVAGE BIKE PLACE

yup the stock ones are the only DOT approved ones. if you can take a pick of what ur stock ones look like or find out if 04 zx lights will fit i have a whole set. pa does not have law on it, as long as you ahve them your ok.

well now that I know that any 90's series turn signal will fit my bike Ill need to conduct a more in depth search on e bay. ZX636 said he has a whole set he could send, but i have the rear signals if u need em i could send. Check with 636 on the set and lemme know, but i think the same day solution is a cycle salvage place.. prob 10.00 for a set and have em the same day... but lemme know. Scott

I will check the local spots for the turn signals first...Im sure you guys know this but you want to know what a Kaw shop quoted me the cost for one turn signal. Thats ONE, not a set, one. $45.OO! :wredx: Multiply that by 4=$180 :wredx: :wredx: And of course you have your labor charges. Which brings the total up to......$220 :wredx: :wredx: :wredx:. I think its cheaper for turn signals for my Prelude! Yea, I think I'll take a look around the area first. Thanks Scotts for your offer. But like I said Ill check the local spots first. id put money on em that they do... my 91 EX500 has the exact same signals as my 03 Z1000 and my friends 04 6R...i think theyve kept em the same for over 15 years now.

went to the salvage yard yesterday. I was looking for the F/R turn signals, right passenger bracket (also "holds" the muffler), and a radiator cap. It was a good news, bad new situation. The good news is a found the radiator cap. Now the bike can run for longer than 5 minutes and I can ride it. The bad news is I did not find the passenger bracket, and I CANT FIND DOT APPROVED TURN SIGNALS!!! I know I can find the brackets easy on ebay. But as far as turn signals go, Im having a really hard time finding them in Phoenix and ebay... :help: Im getting to the point to bite the bullet and just buy them off the Kawasaki dealer that charges $45 a signal. :cursin: This sucks...all the salvage places tell me to come in with my old signals which doesnt help cause the bike has terrible flush mounts on them right now, and aftermarket ones in the back. If anybody has any info on where I can get 98-02 DOT, OEM or BOTH turn signals front and rear, please let me know! :help: Thanks

Snad...I have a set of OEM blinkers off a different bike... A complete set from a 2000 (fits 98-05) VTR1000 aka Super Hawk. There is good condition as well!! Pics here... I'm :sorry: I forgot...

I have a mechanic coming today to pick up the bike and replace the fork seals, the bent header (thats a whole other story if your interested, dont be its boring), and check all fluids especially the brakes. I also asked him about turn signals. He said he could find something that would work. DOT approved. Then, another twf member e mailed me saying he has an 01 zx6r and has his OEM turn signals front and rear willing to offer! So, if the mechanic falls short (which I doubt, this guy does good work), and the zx6r turn signals deal doesnt work, then Ill give you a call. No disrespect or nothing Gas Man, but I would prefer the OEM turn signals as opposed to Honda ones if I had the chance. I just want to get this thing inspected and road worthy ASAP. I thank eveybody for thier help and support. :thumbs:

Nope they were a buddies and sat in his garage for like a year and he gave them to me to sell for him on ebay!
