Burnouts

Okay, so it might not be "stunting", but most of us can at least do a burnout. Question is, how many out there do it for fun? It can get pricy, but ain't nothin' like a cloud of smoke and patch-o-rubber to take off from.

I have done it just a hand full of times in my whole time riding. I have seen some lose control and watch the bike flip and then it just got even more exspensive for them then just a tire. So I don't do it that offten if at all. :)

I hold the front break in and push down on the front. Let the front break out a bit so I am moving and roll on the throttle while keeping the front break on a bit. You might have let the break out to much or not put presure on the front to hold it in place. Just practice and take your time doing it. Don't need the bike flying out from under you.

Put both feet on the ground, hold the front brake, shift your weight forward and peg the throttle while letting the clutch out. should be all one motion. Practice that a few times until you get the hang of it (or need a new tire). When you can do that good enough, slowly start letting the front brake out and start walking the bike forward while doing a burnout, and get used to the feel of the bike when it moving. you will get the feel of how much front brake is needed. then when you got that mastered, try a few with your feet on the pegs, and your weight on the forks. rolling burnout in no time. forgive me burnout gods if i forgot anything, but thats how i learned. It's all mainly getting a feel for the bike and reating to the feedback you recieve from it

That wouldn't go over too well after I explained to the wife why I needed a new rear tire. The best time to do a burnout is just before you plan on buying a new tire. You were going to buy a tire anyway, might as well smoke the old one off.

Hell yes, I agree.. why take off a tire with alittle tread left on it..burn that bad boy all the way off !!! Atleast make it worth while and have some fun before you dump all that money into new rubber!!

nothing like doing a big smokey burnout at the dragstrip to heat those tires up to a smoldering sticky lump of rubber, and then come shooting out of the cloud of smoke up to the starting lights..... rolling burnouts were easy on my gsxr1100 with the extended swingarm since it was harder to wheelie but easier to break the rear wheel loose at almost any speed under 100mph...

another good tip, go practice in an empty underground parking lot. you know, the ones with that really smooth concrete. you can burn out super easily, that way you can get a feel for it before the open road. good luck oh almost forgot, if you want to have lots of fun, go to the garbage bins behind bike shops and alot of the time they will have old bike tires there with no tred left on them. just get a bunch of them and you can have lots off fun withought spending lots of $$
