Pippi 08-16-2006, 10:38 AM Awwww, so cute - congrats!
Are you using a crate? Crate-training is key to potty-training, saving your stuff and saving him from ingesting anything he shouldn't when your not around or he's unsupervised. Also, I love nyla bones - last forever and keep them busy chewing the right thing instead of your furniture LOL. :luck:

Yeah...getting a cage today....he stayed in a mega huge grill box last nite.
Gas Man 08-16-2006, 11:37 AM No crap... One of my best buds in high school's mom had an African Grey... Pretty... Smart... and F*CKING INSANE!
So the phone rings... "hello, hello, helllllloooooooo?" Mid-hello, the phone is still ringing... or is it? Nope it's the damn bird! Put the cover over his cage, "Lights out Simon, Lights out Simon, Lights out Simon..."
All in all, it was pretty cool the first couple times I saw it, but after a while... I grew to despise Simon... Fluttering around the house, pooping on stuff... ringing like the phone, randomly saying crap... and I could never teach him any profanities... I hate birds...
That would be interesting... but I know many people that have those and love em! But like anything else there is always going to be the bad apple.

OneSickPsycho 08-18-2006, 09:08 PM Just got on the photobucket train... figured I would post some pix of my aminal... His name is Mr. Bear... Well, Bearenstein Von Schnugglebutt III is his full name. He's an @$$hole, hates everything... always wants to bite and screw with you (ala knocking my cell phone off the desk next to my bed every morning because he knows it will get me out of bed and I will feed him).
He smiles a lot...
http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/****/onesickpsycho/IM000633.jpg
His entire mission in life is food, poop, bite, and get outside. Though since the day he came back with a cut to the bone on his forearm and the corresponding $500 vet bill (they had to muzzle and fully sedate him before giving him 12 stitches)... He is a strictly indoor guy...

Now.... Can someone tell me how to resize these mofo's? :help:
justpucky 08-19-2006, 09:13 AM When you're in photobucket, click the "edit" button under the picture you want to resize, it will take you to another screen where you can say, 50% of current size, or if it's too small 120% etc.
jeeps84 08-19-2006, 10:48 AM Or you can edit them in paint. Click edit and then stretch skew.
justpucky 08-19-2006, 10:51 AM Yeah, but he's already got them loaded in photobucket... if he used paint, he'd have to delete and reload the pics.

Knight 11-02-2006, 11:21 AM Well it's not really a pet, but today I rescued a small song bird that was about to die on the sidewalk. I took him inside and warmed him up, gave him some water, and let him rest in a makeshift nest of Kleenex in a box. After about 2 hours he was looking much better so I let him go back outside and he flew away to live happily ever after.
Also there was a hungry stray cat at my house when I got back here so I fed it some old lunch meat and gave it some water. Damn, I'm just turning into a softie today....

Actually he's already gone, of course it is snowing so it might have just needed a warm place to go. It wasn't starving so I think it has a home, it just wanted a snack maybe.

Haha, truth. I actually though of you today after I had fed the cat. But the owner of the house we are renting won't allow us to have a cat inside (because she has a dog that will be living here next summer). But we could have a dog, sadly though we won't because we may end up back in an apartment after this year if we can't afford to buy a house.

Yeah the bird was right by my wife's building so after I dropped her off I found the bird and then just took it inside and set it up. Then after my meeting I went back and it was ready to go. If the cat comes back I'll feed it again, but I'm not going to let it into the house because I want to keep living here and my landlord would kick us out if there were a cat in here.

I've heard good things about collies, but I've always had a thing against them... the only dog that's EVER bitten me was a collie puppy... Yeah my in-laws have one like that too. That's my only complaint about them. But not all of them are like that, I just don't know how to tell when they're puppies. I like happy dogs and all but I want one that I can pet and that will both chase a frisbee (and bring it back in one piece) and also just chill with me.
neebelung 11-06-2006, 12:51 PM Yeah my in-laws have one like that too. That's my only complaint about them. But not all of them are like that, I just don't know how to tell when they're puppies. I like happy dogs and all but I want one that I can pet and that will both chase a frisbee (and bring it back in one piece) and also just chill with me.
Goldies and Labs (all colors) stay puppies longer than a lot of other breeds -- you can expect puppy behaviors for at least 2-3 years.

Lab/Golden retriever mix is clutch. Very active yet will settle down too.
ScottSellersUNR 11-11-2006, 12:33 PM my youngest dog is a Irish Setter and German shepard mix, she is unbeliavbly calm, but will still run and play with my hyper ass rotweiler/lab cross....
Come toi think of it the last time i posted pictures on here was when my fox terrier died and we started this thread... ill post pics up right now
ScottSellersUNR 11-11-2006, 12:38 PM The first one is Aspen, thats about as hyper as she is, she really thinks she is a 50lb lap dog and her purpose on earth is to have her belly rubbed by everyone under the sun.
The seocnd is my rotweiler/lab James, hes a hyper ass and totally night blind, but the best cuddle dog in the world at bed time...he is shaking here.. he loves to do that... whether u ask him to or not constantly
Edit: Why when u click on James' picture he looks like hes covered in plaster dust i dont know..lol if u zoom in more u can see how clean and hsiny his coat is, but makes the pic way too big
jeeps84 11-12-2006, 11:29 AM Good looking Dog.
I had one that I thought was scared of the dark till the vet told us that he couldn't see. (I guess he was scared) It was very funny at times. Turn off the lights in the house on a dark night. He would make a sound like Scooby Doo. Then before you knew it. He would be glued to you side. You couldn't move with out him being right by your side.
I am sure somewhere in these 18 pages is my "boy". But figured I would post him again. He's a mutt. Part Chihuahua, Dauchund, and boxer. Awsome dog! Total ladies man.
No Worries 11-12-2006, 05:22 PM This is my dog Rex after his bi-annual bath. He's an Akita/Australian Shepherd mix. I rescued him from the local shelter, but he doesn't think anyone else should come within five feet of me.

Strange to me when most of the time its another breed of dog and not a pit that are the doing the attacks. Media loves sensation, and "pit bull" gets the headlines, not other breeds......Try and identify the pit bull below - 90% of people fail at this game so media must be reporting them correctly every time LOL.

:iagree: other breeds attack people all the time it just doesn't get headlines. agressive dogs are raised by agressive people; I personally have a notorious ankle biter breed who doesn't bite ankles and loves people. We show our dog much love and don't tolerate agressive behavior. I don't think that it is the breed its self but the type of people that the pit bull attracts as owners I have known plenty of completly mellow pit bulls that lived to an old age with out ever attacking a human being.
