R1up0n1 07-18-2005, 11:07 PM Tell me this week will get better.....
So yesterday my apartment floods. I can't get ahold of emergency maitanence. I had to wait till today to get anything done about it...
This morning I left 10 minutes early for work at 6:45am. a freakin cop pulls me over and says I was doing 53 mph in a 35 zone. he was walking up to my truck so I flicked my cig out the window and he said, "why are you littering" i said WTF excuse me...he said you just littered I said sorry. he said "ya know we pay to have these roads cleaned up" WTF man its the interstate! anyway he said he pulled me over for speeding...yet I know I'm already for sure getting a ticket just over the cig flick. He takes my info, yet me go round and round about why I have ky tags and licence, and I am in PA. He goes to his cruiser for about 10 minutes. He comes back and says he's going to cut me a break...ok he's still giveing me a ticket...he didn't use radar, vascar, he must have used a stop watch. on the bottom of the ticket he wrote measured 200 FT, and he wrote the ticket up as "Obedience to obey traffic device." then on notes he wrote M.C in bed of Pickup..
Mean while my boss rolls by me while I'm pulled over WTF!!
On lunch I checked this out. from the stop sign where I pull out it was one tenth of a mile to where he was sitting and "clocked me" from that point it was one tenth of a mile to the sharp curved on-ramp of the interstate. I can safely take this curve tops at 30 mph with the bike in the truck! I'm takeing this to court. two tenth's of a mile total here!
ok ok enuff of that....I get off work to drop the bike off at the shop to have the valve service done for tomorrow's appointment. I BS'd with the service guy for about a 1/2 hr, then I left...he calls me back about 15 minutes later while I'm sitting on the bridge over the river stuck in major rush hour...he said hey man you left your cooler and ramp here...ahhhh f@ck, so I turn around to go get it. well on the way home I am BS'n with a friend on 2 way nextel...no sooner I get to my apartment I get out walk up to the apartment... :cursin: I locked my freakin keys in the truck!!! :cursin: so I call maitanence luckly they got their 24 hour service fixed... he said it will be about an hour I said cool take your time...I sat out on my tail gate opened the cooler and drank a 6 pack of bud light by myself  he finally showed up about an hour later I get in my apartment, get my spare key to the truck and get my keys out of the ignition. Then I wondered over to my neighbors patio and drunk a beer with her for a bit, next thing I know she's already gave me 7 beers while we BS'd for 4 hours. I had to pis so freakin bad I held it for SO long, I had to make an excuse to bail, so I told her I had to go check my email or some sh@t!
I'll be over there tomorrow drinkin again I'm sure. I just met her yesterday since only our 2 apartments got flooded from rain, I've lived here for about 3 months now, she's cool. That is my freakin MONDAY!!!
snakemann 07-18-2005, 11:45 PM Hey my toilet flooded my bathroom b/c the fixture behind the toilet broke and I had to scramble to fix it, only after the bathroom floor was 1 inch deep in an odd smelling liquid :disapp:
Bird man has had probs with his baffroom too, so you are not alone
Grafixx01 07-18-2005, 11:45 PM he said it will be about an hour I said cool take your time...I sat out on my tail gate opened the cooler and drank a 6 pack of bud light by myself
That's called being an alcoholic. Drinking by yourself is not good.
Anyways, good luck with the neighbor. Just remember, if she's drunk then you shouldn't do anything. I'd say set us up with a live feed like in "American Pie" but there would be nothing to watch with a 10second man!
Plus, I think that I'd only wanna see HER!
BabyNinja 07-18-2005, 11:59 PM :yikes:
That's a helluva way to start a week out. U def. deserved a cpl beers after putting up w/ all of it, esp. the :bs: from the cop. He ought to ck his calculations 'cuz his 200ft. doesn't come close to ur 2/10mi (1056ft). Good luck if u take it to court.
Did ur boss ever say anything to ya??
At least u have ur freebie for this wknd to look forward to! :dthumb:
Grafixx01 07-19-2005, 12:03 AM My boss passed me when I did a 180 on the road when I was racing my friend in my Ford Escort vs his Mitsubishi Starion Turbo (he lost when he ran it into the rear end of an Altima). But my boss passed me on the other side of the road and when I got to work everyone was asking what happened and making fun of me.
I do feel for you SV. I really do. I have had nothing but bad luck for like months. If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have none at all! So we'll go race the Gap and hit some bars courtesy of GasMan's bank account.
Gas Man 07-19-2005, 12:33 AM So how many tickets did you end up with?
That is crazy stuff SV!
But if in the end you get the HOTT neighbor then it might be worth it!
Which by the way...we need pics of her!! HELLO!! :nopicsbs: just tell her I'm a horny guy that needs lots of hott chicks pics...take a pic of her and post it!! DAMMIT JUST DO IT!!!
R1up0n1 07-19-2005, 12:38 PM oh and yeah my boss gave me hell

i talked to one of the engineers here at work about my ticket yesterday. He has a convert program that converts mph, x distance and alot of other converstions mass, air, volume, speed, k/mh, feet, inches, cubic cent, you name it it converts it. Anyway he made some good points..for one we couldn't get any of the cops calculations to come up right. The cop said he measured 200 ft at 2.54 seconds and my speed was 53? he said what was he REACTION time when I crossed that line...he said he can do this senario 10 times and get different calculations. he's right about this. also he said make up some BS where he wrote in the notes section MC in bed of pickup. ..the cop screwed himself...i can make up some BS that I had tie down straps that are rated for lets say 350 lbs, if I took that turn at 53? or faster that would throw the weight G's wise to tripple/quadruple the weight so my bike would have been laying out in the street some where. ahhh this will work. LOL
I checked safely with the bike in the bed of the truck I can take the turn at 30 mph, and with out the bike in the truck I can safely take the turn about 32 to 35 mph.
___________________________________________________________
well here is what we got, which could still get me in trouble...:
200 ft in 2.54 seconds = 78.740157 ft per second = 53.7 mph
+ 0.25 second reaction delay = 48.9 MPH
+ 0.5 second reaction delay = 44.9 MPH ( this is a pretty big reaction time)
also the last time the cops equipment was tested was 6-02-05 (this is over a month later)
I believe I was doing over 35 mph, maybe around 40 something but not no 53.

SV you can probably fight the ticket. But if you claim you were still speeding, I dont know if they will lessen the amount of the ticket. Sucks you had your house flooded. My place got flooded because when the complex turned into condo's, they re-did the plumbing and forgot to put in a $3.00 copper ell. I had a 10'x10' hole in my kithcen ceiling for a month because of water damage. Paint, bathroom tile, stucco, more paint, new showerhead, everything. It sucked...and that was on my spring break. Luckily, it was all under 3 months from when I moved in, so it was FREE! I feel you man, I have had a " case of the mondays  " here and there. :luck: with all that and it will make for an interesting drinking story down the road

5 nights out??? Do ya really need 2 nights to recover? LOL
Grafixx01 07-19-2005, 01:37 PM When I was at Fort Benning on Kelly Hill, the guys in my unit used to have a six during lunch and then at 430pm they would hit the store up for more and not stop drinking until like 2am. Go to bed for like 3-4 hours and then repeat again the next day for the entire week. Now the weekend, that was different. Drinking started at 430pm on Friday and didn't stop usually until 2am Monday before PT. The only time I did see them stop is either we were fighting with another unit (had many, many brawls the MPs were even scared to stop!) or they passed out.

I just called the district office to find out how I take this ticket to court...I have to pay the fine of $105.50 + $6.00 for processing fees and sign the back of the ticket where it says plead not guilty... just to go to court. Then I will be issued a court date with in a week or two.
If I win my case I get a refund, if I loose they keep it all...seems smart to me to take the risk of the extra $6.00 to go to court and possibly get out of it, or dismissed if the officer doesn't show up.
I guess my apartment has drain spounts near mine and my neighbors apartment..what weird is we are on the bottom floor on the end, out of a 3 story complex, why in the world we have rain drain spouts above our ceiling I have no clue. I look at blueprints all the time, and see weird stuff like this all the time tho.

I frequently drink by myself...I prefer the company... :dthumb:
BabyNinja 07-19-2005, 06:09 PM ...also the last time the cops equipment was tested was 6-02-05 (this is over a month later)...
This may differ for each state, but last I heard if the equipment hadn't been calibrated that day or the day before, maybe as much as that week, then it'll easily get thrown out. Chances are the cop won't show unless it's his day off. Hope not 4 ur sake.
:luck:
Grafixx01 07-20-2005, 02:29 AM True about the equipment. As far as the states that I've lived in, they must calibrate it each time they take the car out.
However, it sounds like to me all he did was a "lookie". As in he just "clocked you while you were moving by the certification that they are MANDATED to hold and recertify on every year. As far as I know that is in NY, CO and TX (Snakeman can clarify?).
I saw a NY State Trooper get seven speeding tickets in one day thrown out cause his certification was expired.

hmm This is a good point...I need to do research to see when PA's equipment needs to be calibrated..anyone know where I can find this information?
Gas Man 07-20-2005, 03:30 PM The DA office.... you also want to find out if the cop has had any training in how he figured your speed...
Gas Man 07-20-2005, 03:31 PM Here's a website with some good info...
here (http://www.svrider.com/tips/speeding.html)
Its off a site you should know!!
Grafixx01 07-20-2005, 11:44 PM That's got some good information on it. Gotta remember that when I'm riding without plates!
That site probably has some good info, cause I think the fleeing from the pookie and running red lights technique has been proven as bad. :dthumb:

:withstupi actually real fleeing from the popo is not a good thing. Combine that with in-expierence adds up to be a leathal combo as we have seen very recently.
Grafixx01 07-21-2005, 01:16 PM I wouldn't run from the police. Well, not intentionally anyways, if I didn't see the lights or hear the sirens cause of the music flowin' through the iPod, then well ok.
But I checked it out and some of the links to other files are dead. Decent information though.
Gas Man 07-21-2005, 10:29 PM I have never ran from red&blue lights... I just take off when they clock me... it's not fleeing if they aren't coming after me!

R1up0n1 08-01-2005, 10:53 PM Another Monday has passed by. Once again it sucked. This morning I went to work and sat around all day board.
I had to get a molor extracted today, so that's a real bummer. I think I am too young to have a tooth pulled. So many years of drinking mountain dew will do it. It's been almost 8 months since I had a mountain dew, so I am doing good. Even tho i brush my teeth twice a day...it just didn't matter...mountain dew is the top rated drink that is bad for your teeth. If I can get my mouth to stop bleeding I'd be ok I guess. That's this weeks monday report.

I limited myself all night. I kept gozz in when ever I did have a :smoke: it finally stopped bleeding about a 1/2 hour ago. I just took my tyl3, so I'm about to go crash for the night. i hope it feels alot better in the morning. My company's 90th anniversary picnic is at 11:30 so I want to eat!
Gas Man 08-02-2005, 02:40 AM Dentist suck!
R1up0n1 08-02-2005, 05:25 PM Dentist suck!
Yes they do!! and they get alot of my money!!
I made a fast recovery tho. I am actually feeling pretty good today. My company's 90th anniversery picnic was today, and everyone was heading over pileing in the company cavalier and van, I said the hell with that. I dropped my bike out of the bed of the truck, and said I'm rideing over to corperate.
Everyone I work with thinks I am a nut. We pull out and I rode a wheelie down the street, then I slowed down to let them catch up, and I got on the onramp to I83 slammed it down to 2nd leaned that beotch over till my foot and pegs were scrapeing, then I slowed back down at the bottom of the ramp to let them catch back up, then I pulled a wheelie up getting on the interstate, then I put it back down. I then rode on the gas tank for about 5 miles or so. Finally I stood off to the side of the bike and lowerd myself all the way down on the side of the bike where my @ss was about to hit the pavement.
We get to corperate and my co-workers get out of the company vehicles and they said you are a freakin nut. One lady thinks I am going to kill myself. I told her I have sooo much experience with this stuff, and I am ok.
The picnic went really well and good food. My extracted tooth area didn't bother me a bit.
We then left early they figured 2 hours was enough of the corperate people and hearing the president speak. So I hauled @ss back about 140 mph on the way back, the gas light came on but I made it.
HOLY CRAP that's a lot of shiit happening to you in one day. After a day like that it's OK to drink alone. It's not like you were alone the whole time anyway. You were drinking with the girl you're gonna bang soon.

I hope so! I haven't seen much of her lately tho.
Also an update...I received my Notice of Trial Summary Case paper in today, so I can fight my ticket. i still think this cop was so crooked he said I was speeding, but he wrote me a ticket for Disregarding Traffic Control Device. Then on the bottom of the ticket he wrote speeding 53/35. I donno hopefully I win my case August 18th.
R1up0n1 08-18-2005, 02:38 PM Well I just got my @ss handed to me in court! I had the male version of Judge Judy!!! I walked into the court room and the first thing the judge asked me is do you want me to change this to speeding? I told him no because I am pleading not guilty. He said ok we are giving you a break here with no points...but it's your decision, now its speeding with points on your licence. I was like  :wtf: don't I get to explain. He said I am finding you guilty no matter what. Now it's too late he already changed it to speeding. He didn't care anything I had to say.
The calibration for the traffic tracker only has to be checked ever 60 days in the state of PA. This judge really was a A-HOLE and didn't care about any specs on anything I had. It was my word against the cop.
In result he found me guilty and told me again...I tried to give you a break here and you wouldn't listen and now you have points on your license and a bigger fine. I said a bigger fine! He said yes we are figureing what that is now. Then he said do you have the money, I said no, then he said well if you don't have the money right now I am putting you in jail. My eyes got really big and thinking :wtf: :bs: !!!
He asked me one more time if I would like the original offense of failure to obey traffic device (speed limit sign) and I said well it's better then a speeding citation! So I took it for what it was.
The judge said he didn't want to break me, and make it harder on me financially, and he said you made an honest mistake. I was dismissed out of the room. Once I got out to the truck I :cursin: so that's that.

Dude, that's absolutely lame!!! Just caught that judge on the wrong day, and sounds like he had it out for you before the trial started. The crappy part is, its a rather small case, so chances of you appealing his decision in the Judges mind, are slim. But it sounds like you didnt get a fair trial, seeming you didnt really get to plead your side, nor the cop. I thought it was supposed work like this: Cop tells his story, then you do. Then the judge decides. Over. wow man sorry to hear that.
"I guess youll know better nextime (in a :gary: sarcastic voice)"
Sorry dude that just plain sucks. At least you get no points on license (right?) How much was the fine? Well at least its over
R1up0n1 08-18-2005, 03:16 PM PA is smart on their part. They collect the money first which my fine was $105.50. You sign your citation and add $6.00 more if you want to take it to court and plead not guilty. I thought it was worth the $6.00 more. So they already have your money...If I were to win my case I would have been issued a refund for $111.50, but that wasn't the case. I am out of the money, but with NO points on my license. Now what I don't know is can my insurance raise for a ticket with no points issued??
Gas Man 08-18-2005, 07:44 PM That sucks but no points is good! Now just keep your insurance company out of the loop and you'll be fine..
R1up0n1 08-18-2005, 09:15 PM That sucks but no points is good! Now just keep your insurance company out of the loop and you'll be fine..
Well I'm not going to tell the insurance company anything...but will they find it when they do the search before they renew the 6 month policy. I know if it was classified as speeding they would find it.
I got a ticket 4 years ago in maryland and I never paid the ticket and I recieved a court date in the mail which I disregarded that too. When I was on my way up to PA for my interview I got a ticket in Maryland. I thought I was going to jail from a previous bench warrent. The officer never said anything about it...I am guessing since it was over 3 years old...it's out of the system. My insurance never found out about that ticket.
Gas Man 08-19-2005, 11:55 AM They don't run your lisense everytime you renew. Just don't give em a reason to do it... like change anything on your insurance... I know you plan on buying a new bike and that might do it to ya...
The reason I say... I believe in most states your ticket carries 3 points.... even though you didn't get the points by the court... your insurance company will still surcharge you for those 3 points. They do this all the time!!
Earlzach 08-19-2005, 12:21 PM I'm pretty sure your insurance is like most, They look forward to our screw up to give them a reason to hike the price up on us. They will get you for a larger insurence payment. {Surcharge}. And as far as MD I'm sure your not off of their books. It is not an all points bullitin to have you seached nation wide for a traffic violation. But if in fact you owe that state, do not get caught there. They will hold you until they see fit to try you. You screwed them once and they will let you know it. They will not trust that you appier again if they release you without a court date and a pretty high bail. For your sake pushing 25 and somewhat trying to act like it you might want to concider squaring up some of your past. IMO. There is nothing wrong with being right! :2cents:

Luckly I carry a different insurance company for the bike. I think my insurance company only does the check once a year.

Well its been 4 1/2 years since I got that court date, and I recieved the new ticket in maryland in April of this year. That would have been instantly been brought up from the dispatch when they ran my license number....its gotta be out of the system in some way. I did pay this ticket from April tho.
