Yup, Buy and sell all of the time, I love it. No CCards for me though, I use the money I make in sales. Its kinda an "out with old in with the new" :dthumb: thing for me. One toy to another.

That's my theory with the newest purchase. I just bought a Sun Blade 1000 workstation, and once I get it I'm going to put up the old Ultra2 Enterprise I've been using for auction. Everything we have at the shop (IT wise) I buy on eBay ... it's great getting 3 - 4 year old enterprise grade equipment for $.10 on the dollar :D - Roach

I love it... Been buying and selling like crazy for years. Everything from nick naks of the wifes, to parting out bikes... it rocks. Heck I've got another bike lined up for parting out... a old school GSXR... it's next as soon as I free up some garage space...

anyone got burned on it? thats my biggest fear There ARE scammers, make no mistake ... but no more than in any classified ad type medium. Usually it involved hijacking a legitamate seller's account and putting up fake auctions where they pocket your money and disappear. The thing about eBay is to research the seller. I always look not only at their feedback, but also at *what they usually sell*. A prime example - I found a Sun server "buy it now" that was, as they say, too good to be true. A quick look at the seller's feedback confirmed (at least to me) that it was a hijacked account and complete BS. The seller normally sold baseball cards. Thousands of them. Never sold a piece of computer equipment in his eBay career ... and suddenly had a $5k Sun rackmount server (for $1500 "buy it now"). :disapp: - Roach

anyone got burned on it? thats my biggest fear YEP! First time was a Cold Air Intake for my Prelude. Money sent and no product. Then I swear he changed his name and tried to start again. Just by his descriptions and spelling errors, but I had no evidence so Im out $80. The second time was with my exhaust. $400 and 4 months past, no product. Item was on back order but failed to mention that. Luckily it was a "business" and I called up the owner and told him how it was going to happen unless he wanted the District Attorney of CA bothering him with this. Needless to say I got a full refund in 2 days. Then there was the bike on eBay I was telling you about. It was cancelled 5 hours before end of auction either by the seller (whom which we never heard from again) or eBay themselves. I and my buddy were glad he diddnt shell out the $$ before the cancellation. these may sound bad, but the first two were 2 years ago. Ive been buying parts for the Ninja without a problem. Just check the seller rating and read all the Negative or neutral coments. Thats what I do. Since ive done that, I have not had any problems.

I love it & hate it. I more often than not lose bidding wars. A few times at the last moment, but usually to accounts that were only recently started, which makes me suspicious that it's the seller hoping to jack up the price. I've been warned about that, so now I just bid the final amount I want, and let the bids fall where they may. As far as getting burned, twice. But both ended okay. Once I ordered some VCDs from someone who's rating was alright, but I guess he decided to go out of business and take some buyers with him. I sent a postal money order out for my stuff promptly, but weeks later on product. When I would email, if he answered, he would say the product was sent but somehow lost. Finally got pissed off enough I contacted Ebay & told him I would also tell the Post Office, which would make him guilty of mail fraud and a federal offense. My product showed up within the week and I got a curse filled email, for daring to want what I paid for. Unfortunately a half dozen others got burned after me, not heeding my feedback about him. Of course it's my only negative feedback, since he claimed that I never sent the money & took the product. Most recently I got burned on a DVD that a company was selling but didn't have. Was the old bait & switch. I could have credit, but no product. Got Ebay involved again, and got a check. I still would recommend Ebay highly though.

EBay is the best source of cheap bike parts I've ever seen. The difference in price of some stuff is huge, compared to what you can buy in Oz, and the market for stuff in the States and the UK is much greater. Repairing my bikes would have cost 4 times as much if I didn't have EBay. How about a Cagiva Mito headlight bracket, front and rear Brembo brake calipers, incl master cylinders, for $180AS (shipping incl). I was quoted $240 for the headlight bracket alone through a bike shop in Sydney. :wink: :cheers: Chuck

Yes I was addicted and I was about to go into the 12 step program but work blocked it so I no longer can ebay all day and party all night.. MFP.. I was selling ALOT on there but it takes so much time, etc. that it cuts into riding time, etc. I will save that shiiit for the winter..
