Aesop Ninja 08-19-2005, 02:44 AM Alright lets get down to the nitty gritty. We have all had that moment out on the highway when we figure its time to open up the throttle and see what your baby can do. Thats fairly often for me. But Im not wreckless about it...I dont think.. Anyways.. What are the staggering numbers you guys have hit on your speedos?...
Now Im fairly new on my bike and i dont wanna die just yet. So ive done about 220. And I dont dare do much more than that without proper riding gear.
How bout you guys?
Als-Repsol 08-19-2005, 07:35 AM Nice long paved back road 2 nites ago, behind a 03 GSXR1000
hit 164mph (converted & corrected using speedohealer) or 264km/h

220 what? MPH? :yikes:
On what?
The 1300 busa and ZX12 only runs 187 from the factory.
I am sure these two are the easiest to tweek but, :
That is friggin flying. :dthumb:

Anytime you want to convert anything use this site:

Great site
Gas Man 08-19-2005, 01:05 PM Well I've clocked (prior to my speedo healer) about 185mph on the 9R... and that was cookin!

What is your metric convertion?
R1up0n1 08-19-2005, 07:47 PM if you want to convert just look at your gauge on the US model bikes...most have both speeds (mph and k/mh) unless you have digital gagues..I don't know if you can switch it over or not. Most cars/trucks have both labeled also. I know my brothers 2000 imported canadian yellow SVS only has k/mh and no mph at all.
ShanMan14 08-20-2005, 07:29 AM I've got a Canadian model SV650S, can I join in? :yikes:
Gas Man 08-20-2005, 08:10 AM What is your metric convertion?
185mph is 297.7286 kph
Aesop Ninja 08-21-2005, 03:31 AM Gas...... :yikes: ..That is rediculously fast.....And i thought 200 was fast...youre goin 300!!..My bike wont even do 300... From what I hear on the specs it tops out at 260...(kms/h)... I cant wait to prove that wrong though  ...just gotta get the beast up and running..(still awaiting clutch rebuild kit)....
Musta been a rush :dthumb:
JK_DILLA 08-21-2005, 09:27 AM no huge numbers for me, but getting my naked SV to 120 took some work. Tucked down behind my instrument cluster, going down a slight decline. i think the wind blew with me too.
Gas Man 08-21-2005, 11:45 AM Ninja... yeah it was crazy fast.... now that I have it geared it and have installed the speedo healer (to calib my speedo)... I can only get it to about 165 roughly... I will wind her out all the way one of these days when I get to it... but 165mph is 265.5418kph That I know it will do, and it is calib to be exact. So it's not off or nothing. If it was off by stock setting that would be about 180mph...

I was running my 2000 SV650 at 145 to 150 MPH or 230 to 240 k/mh all day!!

R1up0n1 08-21-2005, 09:30 PM are you serious? your bike must be modded and i must be fat.
The SV is modded alot, and I only weigh a buck 15!
JK_DILLA 08-22-2005, 09:05 PM the power to weight ratio is clearly in your favor...
Windigo 08-23-2005, 08:51 AM Got a XB9SL the I hit the revlimiter at 215km/h. Here is a conversion I didnt find: mile/gallon (imperial) to liters/100km, take 286 divide it by #liters/100kms you got miles/gallon , take 286 divided per miles/gallon you got liters/100kms.
Gas Man 08-23-2005, 10:32 AM I have a very very very nice converting program...it will convert anything to anything...
Wind...are your trying to covert 215kph to mph? If so it's 133.5948mph
Windigo 08-23-2005, 11:26 AM Sounds like you got something very precise GM, I thought it was close to 131mi/h thanks for info. What I was talking about is if you do 20mi/g you are doing 18.3L/100kms , 10l/100kms = 28mi/g for US gallon you redivise the number by 1.185.

Gumby 08-28-2005, 10:31 AM 258km gps verified. The speedo showed way more but at that speed you know it ain't acurate!
Gas Man 08-29-2005, 12:14 PM :welcome: Gumby... and yes GPS is way more accurate then alot of other ways. I too have did this to check speed. Now my bike has a speedo healer and it will be right on because it's now calibrated!
