I hope this isn't a repost. Here are photos of what are supposed to be the 2006 R6 and the magnesium and ohlins equipped R1. I like the looks of the R6 even with the Gixxerish can. Yamaha fans enjoy  http://fwhisler.sym-link.com/images/06R6.jpg http://fwhisler.sym-link.com/images/06R6a.jpg http://fwhisler.sym-link.com/images/06R1.jpg

I like it, but happens to the passengers feet? It the bike officially a track bike now, and not for two up use? Oops! Just noticed there is no place for second foot pegs on the bike. Interesting. I think I need to start saving, both bikes are hot!

I'm partial to the R-6 myself and begun saving for one. Little note, if you check the yamaha page, those pics of the R - 6 are no longer present. Yamaha.com, check out the listing for 2006, no R6 (http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/products/lifestylehome/home.aspx) Now only a listing for the R6S is available, which is a remake of the 05 R6.

This is a real bummer!!!! :cursin: The R1 got a face lift, but the R6 looks like the same as the 03,04, and 05 models...and you have the option of an S on the side. i guess we will know more September 28th when Yamaha releases the MSRP and I'm sure more info. if it's going to be like this I will just buy a 04 or 05 R6.

looks like the current R6 has gone the way of the YZF 600R. I will say its a good way to get more models from the same platforms. Note the new FZ1.... basically a R1 and theres nothing wrong with that. oh and the black or yellow R6 has me saving lunch money.

There will be an S model..but it just gives you a suspension package, and I think a different color paint. In other words..it looks like all we get is a repeat of 03,04,05 R6. We'll probably see the change in 07 for the R6 guys. :disapp:

Guys, Um btw, I'm new. I just checked back at the Yamaha website and the new R6 is back on the site now....they say they pulled it because someone released too much information about the 06 models before they were supposed to. They pulled the raven and 50th anniversary pics off the site for now, but more info (and pics, I assume) are due on the 28th.

Yamaha didn't always use blue as the official color.

Yamaha didn't always use blue as the official color. Colors like Yellow and Orange just seem to date things so much. On a year will look out dated. Just like the old Orange Corvettes from the late 70's. Orange is never a cool color on a vehicle.
